compressed week-ends always SAT/SUN on outlook-2003/XP

We have weekends of Thu/FRI instead of SAT/SUN in this part of the world.
When I go for Compressed week-end option, it always compressed SAT/SUN
instead of THU/FRI. This started happening after recent re-installation of
outlook.

As far as I can tell, Sat/Sun were the only two days that compressed view
would combine in any version of Outlook from 2003 on back.

It worked fine on this PC before the re-installation and it still works fine
on other PCs. It compresses THU/FRI, as it is our week-ends here !

First-day of the week- Saturday
Language: English
Region: Saudi Arabia

Irrespective of what first-day or week-ends I choose, it always compresses
SAT/SUN.

This started happening ONLY after recent re-installation of Office.
The same is working perfectly on other Outlook-2003 installed on other PCs.

Was just Outlook/Office reinstalled or did you also reinstall windows?
Reinstalling office shouldn't have an effect, but a new windows install
could.

I got it working using Sat as first day and Sat - Wed as the work week.
Someone had the same problem as you a couple of years ago and I couldn't
figure out how they did it. They never mentioned where they were in the
world so I didn't think to change regional settings. (Thanks for that
clue.) Using Vista, I did it by changing the regional and language settings,
on both location and admin tab, system locale. That forced a reboot and it
worked.

I'm still trying to figure out what needs changed on WinXP to make it work.
Do you have the Right-to-left tab in Outlook's tools, options? That showed
up when I made the language changes.

Ok. So the language setting that is required for the different weekends is
not installed. Compare the settings in Control panel, Regional and language
settings to see if they are identical.
