I am receiving messages that say...Business Contact Manager Failed to load,
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. When I try to
close the box, many more keep popping up. How do I solve this problem?

Hi johnkemper,

I am not sure if what I am going to say in possible for you to do...
If it is possible, can you turn on logging (Outlook 2007 Help menu > About
Business Contact Manager for Outlook > check the "Enable Logging" checkbox)
and try to run into the same state? A log file in your temp folder (named
"BCM_V3.log") should have detailed information that could help us
troubleshooting the issue.

If it is not possible with you, would re-installing BCM help? I would like
to help, but my knowledge is limited based on what I read in this post.

John: Thank you for your help. I did click enable logging but still find
the same problem. I am going to try and remove business contact manager and
then install again. John

Hi John,

Appreciate you for getting back to us with an update.

"Enable loggin" would not change any outcome of any action -- it only
produces an additional log file named "BCM_V3.log" under your "%%temp%%"
folder. It is there to help the support people understand what kind of
trouble you are having, but it is not intended to help the program (BCM) from
running into that trouble...

Please let us know if you are able to correct the issue after reinstalling
BCM.

Thank you,
John Huang [MSFT]

John: I tried to delete BCM and was not able to. I receive a message that a
problem caused the program to stop working correctly. I'm at a loss. John

John,
I am also having the same issue with Outlook/OfficePro 2007 on my boss's
Dell notebook. It started about a week ago. I really want to just uninstall
BCM (it does not fit our business) but the Set Up Wizard "encounters a
problem and needs to close". I installed Office 2007 SP1 and the Error now
says Business Contact Manager Failed to load, The type initializer for
'' threw an exception.

In this Outlook 2007 Help Menu there is no "About
Business Contact Manager for Outlook "

Hmm. I am sorry to hear that, GSH.
You can stop BCM from loading every time Outlook starts up without having to
uninstall the BCM software itself, if BCM uninstallation is giving you
trouble.

To do that, you launch Outlook 2007, and follow these steps:
1. From the "File" menu, point to "Data File Management..."
2. In the new Account Settings > Data Files window, select "Business Contact
Manager", and click the "X Remove" button.

Next time you start Outlook, BCM will not be loaded.

Note that BCM software is still installed on your boss's system, just that
he won't see it (and those error messages) any more.

If you are interested in solving the issue completely, we can continue with
the troubleshooting. Let me know if this helps solving your immediate issue
on your boss's laptop, though.

I tried uninstalling BCM, and still get the same error message.
Please let me know if you find a solution to this problem.
