I am not able to update SP3 for OneNote. I get an error message, that update
failed. Updates were not installed.

Thanks for any advice.

System details:
XP SP2, Office 2003 SP2, OneNote 2003 SP2,
When I try update OneNote SP3 is shown as critical update, but after
download, I get a message that installation failed.

See if you can find a standalone download of Office SP3 (usually will say
something about being for system administrators or something). These
standalone installers, while they provide the same updates, usually give
more useful information about a failure because they aren't run as
unattended installations. At least I found this to be the case many times
with things on Windows Update that didn't install correctly.
