Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to make images searchable the default
option in onenote 2007. All of the files I imported from onenote 2003 and
all of my new files that I printed to onenote 2007 from pdf are set at a
defualt of not being searched. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I can not say what happens with stuff imported from ON 2003 (only used
it for 2 weeks or so and then made the move to the ON 2007 Beta).

But for screenshots text recognition works well for me.
At times if the results are not too good. I then change the language
temporarily and change it back to the previous one (right muse menu,

Could it be that you have the feature of automatic recognition disabled?
Check in "Tools | Options | Others"

When I right click an image, it says the image text search is disabled. If I
do enable a picture, the search works fine. The problem is, I have all of
my lecture slides from class as images, so I would literally have to right
click and enable thousands of images, which isnt practical.

Also, the image search is not disabled in the options menu.

I just noticed tonight why my new imported files are not searchable. I saw
that the images are searchable after I print them to onenote, but after I use
"printout manager" to split the long page into subpages, search no longer
works. Does anyone know why this is or how to fix it? Are subpages not
searchable?

Thanks fro this interesting detail!
I use the Printout Manager quite often but did not yet notice the
shortcoming you mention.
Will check it on my system.

No idea on how to fix this :-( :-(

No, this can not be the reason. Subpages are not different in as far as
OCR recognition is concerned.
