upgrading to 2007 office

I have always used just one PC, equipped with Xp and Office Pro 2003. I have
just added a laptop with Vista. My O/P '03 was preinstalled and I do not have
disks. Can I simply upgrade to '07 on my desktop, and also have the new '07
on my laptop, without having had the '03 on it? I don't want to upgrade to
Vista on my Xp, and am totally confused by this. Help will be greatly
appreciated!!!

Yes, you could get away with just the upgrade, however, you are going to
have to make sure that you have a qualifying product when you need to
install that on your next computer, etc. That's the problem with not getting
the disks. At some point, it's going to cost you big bucks.
