I had to download office 2007 for my college work. I am having problems
finding training programs that show me how to work through the files and
docs. I kinda got the whole xml, but even that causes trouble when I go to
save docs. Can any one point me in the right direction?

Seems that one of the patches that got installed recently, either this month
or last month, has changed the default file association for opening office
2007 files on computers that have office 2003 installed along with the 2007
compatibility pack. Since I support alot of computers it would be nice if
there was an easy and simple method for changing the file association for
.xlsx, docx, xlsm, etc for multiple computers.
The error message that I get when trying to double click a 2007 file to
make it open in excel 2003 is: "Windows cannot find . Make sure you
typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file! , click
the start button, and then click search."

I create drawings, mostly in Powerpoint, using multiple balloons with
sequential text numbers. I currently type in a set of four numbers in a text
box, drag the box into the balloon, then copy and paste to make a bunch of
the balloons. Then, in each balloon, I have to change the numbers manually to
get 1123, 1124, 1125 etc. Is there a way to make, say, ten balloons with
sequential numbers automatically?

On our network, we have a number of Office 2007 PCs and one Office 2003 PC.
We store all of our Word documents as Word 2007 XML. The Office 2003 PC
cannot read these files. We have installed the Office Compatibility Pack on
the Office 2003 PC. When we double on a Word file in Explorer, it opens the
document in XML tag view, not as a readable Word document.
Does anyone know whether this problem is solvable? Thanks.

over the weekend, our office upgraded to all new hardware, server os, and
office 07. All of our data is in 03 format. When i open it and edit it, it
still saves it in 03 .doc format for example in word. i know you can "save
as" the 07 .xml format, but it creates another file and no way do i need two
of everything.
is there anyway to open any office 03 document, and let excel, word, or
whatever automatically overwrite that 03 document in the 07 format?
thanks
Jason
