  styles

Author: stumpedinoregon
Date: Sep 18, 2008 10:55

In styles, I selected a header number to apply it to my numbered subtitle. I
modified it to the hilt, spent at least one hour off and on between two days,
trying to get the following "heading" that is long enough to wrap around to
the next line (example):

1. The Product Malfunction Arose Out of Defendant's Inappropriate Use of
Said Product
TO LOOK LIKE:

1. The Product Malfunction Arose Out of Defendant's Inappropriate Use
of Said Product

Word Perfect allows for a "hard tab" after the number 1. which causes text,
after wrapping around to next line, to "line up" at the same spot as the
previous line (second example of what I want the MS Word style heading to
look like). How do I do this in a style? And if in Styles it's not
possible, then how do I do it in a normal document heading that's not in a
style? I want the text to wrap around to the point the first text begins.

Please respond. Thank you!

[LCS 2005] IM communication between two Enterprise pools

Author: Dynares Bart Timmermans
Date: Sep 17, 2008 02:19

We have an organization with two LCS front-end servers and a clustered SQL
backend. Users from one domain are complaining that they cannot access LCS.
The problem with this domain is that a forrest trust is not allowed, only a
domain trust is available. The implications are that only NTLM authentication
is possible instead of Kerberos (which is our standard authentication
mechanism voor LCS).

Switching back to NTLM for the whole organization is not an option (more
authentication traffic). Switching to both Kerberos and NTLM is not an option
(because it will first authenticating on Kerberos and for some reason it will
not fall back to NTLM).

One of our ideas was to create two seperated enterprise pools on the same
farm. Enterprise pool 1 is for the whole organization (except the domain
trust domain) and the default authentication mechanism will be Kerberos.
Enterprise pool 2 is only for the related domain and the default
authentication mechanism will be NTLM.
Is there a possibility to create intra-pool communication?

Hope someone can help me out with this or point me in the right direction?

Kind regards,

  OCS 2007 user replication

Author: Tom_Slycke

Running enterprise on pool servers and standard on director and edge
servers.
We have a multiple domain forest with domains in both the US and the UK.
The OCs servers reside in the US and while UR works fine most of the time,
it occassionally encounters issues whne synchronizing with DC in the UK.
We have identified that UR seems to work better with certain UK DCs than
others. Is it possible to tell OCS what DCs to communicate with when running
UR?

Thanks!!!!

  Communications Server 2007 Standard Edition

Author: Hobby_Farm

From what I can gather by reading the documentation a mediation server is
required to connect the OCS environment to a PSTN gateway (if the gateway
does itself not have OCS capability). It also appears that the mediation
server must run on a seperate host. Does this mean that OCS Standard Edition
by itself is insufficient to support interconnection with the PSTN? Do I need
to implement the Enterprise Edition and run 2 instances of it, one as the OCS
and the other as the mediation server on seperate hosts to get PSTN
interconnection? If this is true it is not at all clear from the advertising
hype that appears on the Communications Server 2007 product pages.

Remove / Add / Maintain Contact Lists

Author: Adam
Date: Sep 16, 2008 08:28

I am running LCS 2005 in the Win 2003 AD network.
It's all running fine, Just used for IM.

I have created and deployed contact lists to all my users.
Everyone has the same list, broken up by dept groupings.
I add the users via the LCSAddContacts script.
I have an all contacts text file and a dept based text file.
I run:
CScript LCSAddContacts.wsf /usersfile:Allcontacts.txt /contactsfile:It.txt
/contactsgroup:"Department IT"

This adds the Dept IT group to all my users, adding the names the IT.txt file.
This seems to work ok.
I have a script and text file for each dept.

When I remove a user from AD I disable their LCS account and remove the SIP
entry from all the text files. Then I re-run the script to update all my
users.
It does not remove this deleted user from the contact list.
The old user still shows for everyone under the Dept Group as unkown.

I am pretty sure this process worked before.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding end users using communicator 2007 and tanjay.
Is there a way to block certain group of users from seeing/adding other set
of users in their communicator? e.g. users in Finance cant see and/or add
users from Marketing. is there a policy that can be defined etc.

TIA
Jason
