  Utility to find/replace Message Class?

Author: Dave24
Date: Dec 26, 2008 09:44

Does anyone know of any utility or script that could be used to find/replace
the message class on items within an entire data store (not just the current
folder)? We have some old PST files that were converted from Notes ages ago,
and for some reason the message class of emails is showing as just "IPM"
instead of IPM.Note. We are attempting to bring this PST data into an
archival solution, so this message class is causing problems as it is not a
recognized type in the application.

We have used a utility called DocMessageClass to replace instances of "IPM"
with "IPM.Note", and it works great for one folder. However, we've got some
PST files with 500+ folders and fixing this would be very time-intensive. Any
ideas on way to comb through an entire PST file for a global find and replace?

Author: Craig Johnson

We are taking on about 50 users that came from a Lotus Notes environment. We
have received their mailbox.nsf and names.nsf files. I am looking for
recommondations for converting their data into Exchange. We are currently
evaluatiing products from BinaryTree and Systools.

I am also wondering if there are any issues to be aware of.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Exchange Extension in active directory management console

Author: S. Wynant
Date: Sep 18, 2008 06:26

On my local pc I'm trying to manage my company's active directory by using
the mmc active directory users and computers along with the exchange
extension.

I can connect to my domain controller and have the ad before me, however,
when I open a user's properties I get an error 800004005 when I click OK, the
properties window opens without the exchange tabs. When I want to open
'exchange tasks' for a user I get the error c0070005.

Now some more info on the domain structure:
We have 2 domains, domainA, our national domain, has no exchange server, all
users log in to this domain.
On the second domain, domainB, the international domain, we have our
mailboxes. To access their mailboxes, the users have their login and password
for domainB stored in managed passwords. DomainA and DomainB are completely
separated.

On my local pc (domainA), I'm able to connect the mmc to domainB, I can
manage all ad objects, but have the erros when I want to use the exchange
extensions.

I also have a pc in domainB, with this pc I have no problem with the
exchange extensions.

  Lotus Notes Transporter Suite

Author: Rob M
Date: Sep 16, 2008 13:06

Hi All,

I need a bit of help here. I've been reading the documentation trying to
understand what I need...

Here is my current environment... We have Louts Dominio running version 8
and Exchange 2003 with FE/BE. We are currently using the old connector to
sync Notes with Exchange.

I have just installed Exchange 07 as a CAS, HUB, Mail at least for now, I
will be moving CAS off it when I get a free server.

My question / issues are there is no documentation stating how to deal with
the new transporter.. Do I just install the new one on the Exchange 07 with
the lotus notes client installed. What happens with the old connector in
place? will it break? Can I get everything working through the new
transporter and then remove the old one on Exchange 03?

Any insight or knowledge on how to proceed would be great. We already had
issues in needing to update aliases because of 07

Thanks,
Rob

Running ExMerge on a moved mailbox

Author: Tim
Date: Sep 9, 2008 07:12

Hi,

Before I describe the ExMerge problem I'm having, here are the pertinent
facts:

Exchange 2003 SP1 - native mode
Using an account that is specifically set up to run ExMerge and has been
tested to be sure it has the proper permissions

I have a user whose mailbox was moved to a different Exchange Server due to
transferearlier this year; we have since found a need to recover her mailbox
from the last backup of 2007. We've restored the mailbox store from tape and
can see the mailbox, but then we try to run ExMerge to extract the mailbox to
a PST, we get this error:

Error opening message store (EMS). Verify that the Microsoft Exchange
Information Store service is running and that you have the correct
permissions to log on. - 0x8004011d

I looked up the error and found a TechNet Library article that says that
this error can occur if you try to extract a mailbox that has been moved from
the original database. Here's the link to the article:
