Hi,
I am about to remove my first Exchange 2000 server from the site. I
checked all the replication settings on all public folders and found
that the old server is still listed as a replica with the new server. I
tried removing it, but it prompts me for the password and it just didn't
accept the credentials regardless what I admin account I used (this
didn't happen when I removed other public folders).
I am just wondering do I have to do this step to order to remove the
server successfully. The MS article on how to remove the first exchange
server never mention anything about the system folder. But it does ask
you to remove all the replicas that are on the server. Can someone
advice what is next troubleshooting step?
Thanks

On what folder is it listed as a replica? AFAIK the only system folders
that matter are the Organizational Form, Free/Busy, and Offline Address Book
folders.

Hi James,
I just tried removing it with pfdavadmin and it still didn't work. Just
to give you abit more background. This exchange is on a Windows 2000 DC.
Does it make any difference?
Thanks

Why are you trying to remove that? No need to.
The System Configuration folder is specific to each server.

The system configuration folder (system folders under public folder) has
a replica pointing to the old server and I would like to remove it
before decommission it.
