  Update target of embedded resource

Author: Sean
Date: Jul 31, 2008 18:26

Hi all,

Is there a way to update the target (Ie. "New Window", "Same Window" etc) of
a resource that is embedded in a placeholder? We are using the Telerik rad
Placeholder, and have recommended that users specify a target of _blank when
they add a link to a document as it prevents the user unintentionally closing
the site when they close a document.

The placeholder has been customised so that the default target is now
_blank. However, there are a significant number of links that have a target
of _self. Is there a way to do a bulk update of target from _self to _blank
without having to rely on user's going through and updating all their
postings manually?

I suspect that there probably isn't, but just want to check before
communicating that to the users.

Thanks,
Sean

  SQL 2000 to 2005 upgrade

Author: Adrian
Date: Jul 31, 2008 09:20

Hi Stefan,

We have a strange error when we attempt to upgrade our MCMS db from SQL 2000
to SQL 2005 - We are running on SP2 and we are following the instructions
including running the db script.

After the migration everything works fine except that when I create and save
a new page, the 2nd postback stalls and eventually times out, at which point
it returns the page which has a script error "object expected" - it looks
like the js is not being delivered... but we havn't changed anything except
to point the db at the new server.

Any Ideas, Many thanks,

Adrian

Hi,

How do you view hardware raid configuration on windows server 2003? is there
a command line method or some 3rd party utility to download which an show all
raid specifications?

I have a few ttech 1002 servers with no admin console where I could normally
check what's on the raid controller. I checked on their site but theres no
such download available. Or can this info b accessed in the bios?

Thanks,
Taz

Migrating CMS SP1A to CMS SP2

Author: Ksayal
Date: Jul 28, 2008 08:34

Hi,

We have CMS 2002 SP1A installed on our server and since we are migrating our
site from CMS to Sharepointportal server, the requirement is that in order to
do the migration, it should be atleast CMS 2002 SP2. How difficult will it be
to install SP2 on our production server and if there's any documentation that
I can read before installing SP2 on the server.

Thanks in advance,

Kulwinder

  CmsApplicationContext.UserHasRightToBrowse Always returns true

Hi,

We're writing a windows service to compliment an ASP.NET 1.1 MCMS
website and web-based document management system we custom built some
time ago.

The service loops through a list of documents in our custom document
management system which contains the CMS Posting and Channel GUIDs of
the documents in the CMS itself. The two databases (MCMS and our
custom DB) are kept in sync when user's publish content via the
document management system and it publishes the content to the CMS and
also records the relevant information in the custom database.

In our new service, we need to connect the application to the MCMS
server and check if a user has security to see a particular document
selected from the custom database. I was hoping to do something like
the code below but it doesn't work. The security is set up using
normal Site Manager security services and Active Directory profiles.

CmsApplicationContext context = new CmsApplicationContext();

context.AuthenticateAsGuest();

  ACREDITE FUNCIONA!!!!!

Ganhar dinheiro rápido e honesto

meu blog http://jet72.zip.net/

  Local password lockout

Hi everyone, my team and I are having a strange problem, we administer a
password change every 90 days. The group policy gets applied and the password
is changed on the local machine, the employees get in do thier work for that
day then they logout and go home. The following day the employee comes in
and they are now locked out. I now have to manually type in the password on
the server for it to be applied. Then they are fine for the next 90 days,
please HELP! I know that something is being missed.

MCMS 2002 IIS worker process crash

Author: Jon
Date: Jul 24, 2008 05:14

Hi there,

I'm hoping that you can help me with an MCMS 2002 Enterprise SP2 problem. On
our server we are having a large number of IIS worker process crashes:

IIS Worker Process encountered a problem and needed to close.

Error signature:

szAppName: w3wp.exe
szAppVer: 6.0.3790.3959
szModName: REAuthFilt.dll
szModVer: 5.0.5054.0
offset: 000044fd

The MCMS functionality is also running slowing and not functioning well at
times. We've got MCMS running elsewhere and not had this problem, the
configuration is the same and it does work 80 - 90%% of the time so we're
really not sure what's causing this.

If you need any further information please let me know.

Many thanks,
Jon.

  Site Deployment

Author: Nik
Date: Jul 23, 2008 16:38

We are using deployment scripts (vbs) that are scheduled to run through out
the day. Recently these have stopped working properly. The error received is
"80040154 class not registered", this happens on the authenticateasuser call.
The scripts run fine if the user is logged onto the server but fail when
logged off. The server is Win2003 SP2. I have been told by the client that no
updates have been done to the server recently and I'm having trouble trying
to solve this problem. Any suggestions?
