Editing "Channel" Properties in SharePoint MOSS 2007

Author: John Way
Date: Feb 28, 2008 10:28

We are migrating a CMS site to MOSS. I am aware that channel
properties are part of the SPWeb.AllProperties in MOSS, but is there a
way to manage those properties through the SharePoint interface?

Thanks,

John

  Production Site export

Author: Sean Skelly
Date: Feb 27, 2008 16:28

Hi

I wanted to have all the content in our production environment match our
testing environment so I copied the MCMS database from our production SQL
server and in to our testing SQL server. All the content is displaying
correnctly however no resources eg images, pdf's are displaying.
When I go to the properties of the image in the CMS site I get a mismatching
blob entry 3754 error in the URL.
Also when I go to the resource gallery in Site Manager no resources are
displayed and get an error message stating:
Error: 0
Description: Invalid key
Severity: 5
Source: ListImages
Debug info: N/A
Extra info: N/A
Client Source: OEFResGallery::evhOEF_OnEvent:Window/NavTree/OnSelect
Recommended Action: N/A

Any idea why this is occuring?

Thanks

As soon as I access internet explorer my machine makes a repetitive sound; a
cross between and frog and jungle noises. I can find no programmes running
under task manager and feel I may have some sort of virus but can find no
details of such a thing!

mCMS template explorer is gone in VS2005 after installing sp2

Author: Yorrick
Date: Feb 27, 2008 06:14

Hi,

Recently I have updated our mCMS 2002 server with SP2 in order to work with
.Net2.0 and VS 2005.

I have installed the hotfix after installing the SP2 and then opend the
VS2003 solution in VS 2005 and converted the project to a Web application via
Right mouse button on project and "Convert to web application".

Now I face an issue that a lot of people have or had and that is that the
template explorer is no where to be found.

Did I do something wrong? Is there a solution for this. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Yorrick

Export Content from One CMS Machine to Another

Author: Anthony
Date: Feb 26, 2008 23:14

Hi,

We have alot of new content been added in new channels in our UAT CMS box
and now we need to export it to our production CMS box. We thought it best to
develop on UAT but now we're not so sure since we are running into
export/import errors.

So we have a channel in
PROD : /channel/prod/customer , and
UAT : /channel/uat/customer new

We want to export all postings in "/channel/uat/customer new" to
"/channel/prod/customer". There are a bunch of sub channels (and postings)
too we want to migrate over.

I'm using the export / import (sdo) functionality. Firstly, Is this the
correct tool?

When it migrates over, it can't find the destination channel so it sticks it
in the orphaned channel. Now, I can specify the orphaned channel to be the
one I want but I would have to create 10 or more sdo packages for this to
work, one for each.

Is this the correct methodology or am I way off?

  VS2005 no dll

Author: Randel
Date: Feb 26, 2008 08:10

My organization's existing Internet presence was built using MCMS 2002
with Visual Studio 2003. We deploy our changes by moving the
generated dll and any changed file assets (local images, stylesheets,
*aspx, *ascx, etc..)

For our Intranet web, we decided to use MCMS 2002 with Visual Studio
2005. I have noticed that no dll is generated when we build the Web
site.

How do you deploy an MCMS web site built using VS2005. Do all files
have to be moved? Or is there a way to generate a dll in VS2005?

Any help is appreciated! Randy

  CustomSaveNewAction.cs in VS2005

Author: Randel
Date: Feb 25, 2008 11:50

Hi.

I am having problems converting the CustomSaveNewAction.cs
functionality in MCMS 2002 using ASP.NET 2.0.

I used Stefan's sample to modify the DefaultConsole.ascx control,
replacing AuthoringSaveNewAction with CustomSaveNewAction.cs in MCMS
2002 using ASP.Net 1.0. this worked great.

I am having problems implementing this in MCMS 2002 using ASP.NET
2.0. I can't get the class to register on my DefaultConsole.ascx
control.

<%%@ Register TagPrefix="cmsCustom" NameSpace="MySite.App_Code"
Assembly="App_Code"%%>

Can anyone help me with this?

thanks! Randy
