Communication problem integrating with Dynamics AX

Author: Tomas
Date: May 19, 2008 11:01

Hi All,

We are integrating Dynamics AX using the Biztalk adapter i Biztalk.

After a while in stable production we are getting some communication errors
while sending messages to AX:

Source Biztalk Server 2006
Event ID: 5743
The adapter failed to transmit message going to send port "XXX.YYY.xml.mdax"
with URL "ax://XXX:YYYY". It will be retransmitted after the retry interval
specified for this Send Port. Details:"An unexpected failure occurred while
processing a message. The following error has occured: Failed to write to an
IPC Port: The pipe is being closed.
".

Source: Microsoft Dynamics AX adapter
Event ID: 0
The adapter is unable to send the following message to Microsoft Dynamics AX:
MessageId: 4946d50e-e7bd-4f1d-beda-d39f211ef30a
Error: Failed to write to an IPC Port: The pipe is being closed.

The messages are retransmitted after the failure and most of the times there
is no problem accept for a few messages that are being sent twice to AX!

  Multi Locations trick

Hi,
Before I start developing I`d like to ask two questions.

We have about 50 stores and each of them uploads its daily data to a nfs
shared directory "Stores" . There is a unique directory for each store for
uploading.
Stores/101
Stores/102
Stores/103
...

1- What is the best way to listen 50 different directories and run same
Orchestration/mapping?
2-The directory names are also storeIDs and I need to use this StoreID in
the output of the mapping. What is the best way to get the directory name
and pass it to the mapping?

Thanks
Kenan

  Transaction in an orchestration

Hello

In one of my orchestrations, I use a C# class method to override which
certificate to use when sending a message to a receiver (via ftp on a
dynamic port) To do this I am using the .NET biztalkOMExplorer class
where I can change the certificate for a send port and save it in the
BiztalkManagement database. Well, this is functioning very well when I
am testing sending one and one message. But when we are exceeding the
number of messages and sending many message at the same time, it mixes
which certificate to use. The receivers are just able to decrypt some
of the messages. This must be a concurrency problem where several
orchestrations are changing the send port's certificate.

It seems that I need to put some transcation scope around the
Expression where I call the C# class and the Send shape so that just
one can change the certificate at one time and do the ftp sending
before the next one can change certificate and send. Could the
solution be like this:

Error message when using BizTalk 2006 and Dynamics AX

Author: Idar H
Date: May 16, 2008 00:21

Hi

I'm trying to use the BizTalk adapter to connect to Dynamics AX, but I get
this error message:

An unexpected failure occurred while processing a message. The following
error has occured: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

The error occurs when BizTalk tries to send the message to Dynamics AX.

I have followed the description in the document "Configuring the Application
Integration Framework (AIF) BizTalk Adapter for Data Exchange".

The proxy user is defined, it's a domain user
The BizTalk process user is a domain user, also defined in Dynamics
The gateway user is a domain user, also defined in Dynamics
BizTalk Server and Dynamics AX AOS is on the same server

I'm using following SW:
Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
BizTalk Server 2006 R2
Dynamics AX 4.0 SP2

Does anyone knows what the problem is? I can provide more information if it
is needed.
