  afterupdate event

Hey,
so i have two text boxes which have numbers in them.
I have a third text box which is, say the sum of the two numbers. I
don't want the third text box to be a calculated control because i
want to use it elsewhere (and i want the number to appear immediately
when you change one of the first two).
Therefore I had a macro set up on the both the first 2 text boxes
which sets the value of the third.
I have this macro set up as an afterupdate, but it only works after i
update one of hte numbers, not the other - it seems whichever comes
first in the tab order is the one that counts...
Why is this?
Also, the setvalue property in the macro used to work fine in the 2003
access, but it doesn't appear in 2007 as an option - the only reason i
can even use it, is because this macro was created on 2003...

  opening forms

Author: Deanna

Hi I am trying to create a employee database that will open other forms that
data can be placed in (tick boxes) to show the employees' level of
competence. When i create the macro to open the form it doesn't correspond
to the employee i have selected in the original form, it just goes stright to
the first record of that form. I'm thinking there is something I'm not
getting right in the relationships? They are connected via their ID numbers
atm (which is the primary key). Is there a way i can make this happen? I'm
also unaware how to create an expression for the 'Go To' macro tool which i
thought might help me?

Please help i am absoloutly lost!

  Easy select query question

Author: Kate

Hi,
I have a form in which the user selects various properties from drop
down lists.
The idea is that based on the properties selected, a different cost is
associated with that part.

I have a select query that runs on a command button, and it basically
filters for all those properties. This part works fine - I have a
query with just one record in it - I want to use one of the fields in
this select query and set a field on the main form equal to it.

I don't see why I can't just go:
Forms!FormName!Cost= Queries!QueryName!Cost
but I get the error "Object Required"

I'm pretty sure this must be something easy I'm doing wrong...

Cheers

  Contract management database template

Author: RBM

Our company needs a database to track about 60 contracts we have with
customers. We need to make sure that we don't miss contractual events for
delivery or billing. Any suggestions on where I can find a template that I
can modify or a low cost solution that will help us? Thanks.

Two table with same child table

Date: Jul 13, 2008 17:13

I have an ‘Order’ Form which has a subform ‘Freight Detail’ table where I
enter details of freight (cartons, pallets etc) for each order.

I have also created another form ‘Freight Invoice’ which has a same subform
‘Freight Detail’ table.
Using this form (when I get the invoice from transport company) I want to be
able to apply the details of the freight (which I entered using ‘Order’ form)
to the ‘Freight Invoice’ table.

So [Freight Detail] is a sub form of two separate forms.

[Order] --> [Freight Detail] <-- [Freight Invoice]
Order # Order #
Con note
F Invoice F Invoice

But when I try to pull up freight detail data (using various methods like
combo box etc) In the 'Freight Invoice' Form it comes up with message “Cannot
change record because related Record is required in 'Order'â€. I think I am
having trouble because the [Freight Detail] is already a child/subform of
Order table that has data in it .

One Order can have multiple freight details (connote) &
One Invoice can have multiple Freight details (con note)

Your question is confusing. You want to hide one record - row - in the form;
but your example does not refer to a row, but to a field (a column).

I have a Microsoft Access 2007 Database Application, I know it is really
Impossible to Secure/Protect it from being copied but I would like to try
and have some features that may make it so difficult to get around being
able for someone else to copied it for a friend to use. I have I table that
may help do this its the your "Company Information" Some how this may be
able to be locked up and cant be changed unless you have a password or
something like that, Any Ideas as I would like to distribute it to some
people they can use it in RunTime as well !

poner acentos manualmente?

Atentamente,

  Linked table Combo Box Issues

Author: als

I have a .mbd file that I use for GIS. Since I do not want to
compromise the main file, I have linked it to a new mbd file that will
only be used in Microsoft Access.
The point of this is: Any updates made in the attributes table of the
GIS .mbd show up in the Access .mbd and vice versa. It is set up this
way so the "Non-GIS" users that need to access and edit the file are
able to without dealing with GIS.
My Problem: I created a combo box for my first field (which is named
address and is defined as text but the list is actually street numbers
which can have text with them like 442B) and it seems to work fine. it
show the dropdown with the numbers in that column. The rest of my
columns are text (like the street name0 but all the combo box will
show is numbers, starting at 1 and going down in...
