  dos and queu life paramters

Author: joe

Hello, some times my queu qets filled up with spam and it takes a long
time to process. Is there a way to configure the queu so when a job
takes very long it goes to another queu and get process later when the
queu is empty. Which parameters do I need to adjust in the main.cf.
Thanks.

  Can't receive mail to an internal mail server

Author: Florindo

Hi to all,

Before I had this structure:
WEB===INTERNET===>FW===>LAN

FW was also a mail server and receive the email of all users. Just two user
receive correctly the email into their Maildir into WEB.
WEB is a Web Server and also a DNS server and receive just two account
email.

Now i'm in trouble...I've make a new LAN structure like this:
WEB===INTERNET ===> FW ===>LAN

LAN have an internal machine (10.10.10.x) that will be a new mail server
that I would like to receive any mail of the existing account.

At the moment everything works fine FROM and TO any email address if I work
directly INTO a new mail server but If I trying to move an existing account
(just for test) into a new mail server it doesn't receive any email.

That's the result of postconf -n into FW:
alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases
alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases
command_directory = /usr/sbin
config_directory = /etc/postfix
content_filter = smtp-amavis:[127...

Does anyone have a the lines to add X-AntiAbuse: headers in main.cf ?

We would like to track our emails for spam abuse and know where they came from
including if they ran from website script.

Thanks

  Ignore permanent errors on relay

Author: André Hänsel
Date: Feb 21, 2008 21:40

Hi,

I set up postfix with relay_domains and transport_maps, so it acts as
backup MX and relays mail for certain domains. I don't want to
configure the specific mail accounts on the backup MX.

The primary MX rejects mails to invalid recipients during SMTP
conversation with a permanent error. In this cases Postfix sends a
failure report to the original sender.

Can I tell it to silently ignore the permanent error and discard the
mail?

Regards,
André

  redirecting mail from one address to two different accounts?

Author: mechphisto

We're using Postfix 2.2.10 on an RedHat AS4.
we have an email address, customerservice@(domain).com which needs to
be received by two different people.
Now, I have it set up so that both their clients will check that one
account and "leave message on server" so both can get it...but that
still causes problems.
Is there something through Postfix that can allow me to fork the mail
for customerservice@ to their two individual mail accounts? Aliasing,
canonical mapping, virtual mapping, whatever?
I can't figure out how it can be done, if at all.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Liam

  Going from qmail to postfix

Author: Mauricio Tavares

I have a mail server that is currently running postfix + vpopmail (for
its virtual emails) + spamassassin. For many reasons I want to go to
postfix. What is the best way to do that?

  roting one incoming message to two downstream smtp servers

Author: ak4life

Hello,

I'm looking to test out two different Anti-SPAM solutions and would
like each incoming message to be routed to two SMTP servers, like so:

Internets --> [ mx1 ] --> [ mx2+anti-spam1 ] --> [ mailstore1 ]
|
|
--> [ mx3+anti-spam2 ] --> [ mailstore2 ]

Where for each incoming message, mx1 would send a copy to mx2 and mx3.
Is there way to do this with postfix?

thanks a bunch!
