Include and modify some kdelibs files in a GPL project

Author: Daniel Calviño Sánchez
Date: Jul 10, 2006 00:32

Hi,

I have a little question about kdelibs license.

I'm developing a GPL library and wanted to use KProcess class (in
kdecore module of kdelibs). However, I don't want that my library
needs to be linked against full kdelibs (I want to keep its
dependencies at minimum). So I'm copying KProcess files to my own
library and modifying them to remove any KDE or QT dependency.

The question is, can this be done? I mean, as far as I know, I must
keep the LGPL license on those files but, should I do anything else? I
can license the library under GPL and keep specific files under LGPL
telling that they were got from kdelibs and later modified by me,
right?

Thank you for your attention.

  kde.org mailing list memberships reminder

Author: mailman-owner
Date: Jun 30, 2006 23:56

This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your kde.org mailing
list memberships. It includes your subscription info and how to use
it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example, mailman-request@kde.org) containing just the
word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to
you with instructions.

If you have questions, problems, comments, etc, send them to
mailman-owner@kde.org. Thanks!
