I am trying to determine if it is possible to use Flash Remoting and CF 8 to
create PNGs from Flash movies on the fly.

I see some third party solutions and a PHP solution, but can't find anything
about doing with Flash and CF.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This is a strange one.

I have a website that displays event data pulled from MSSQL 2005 via
ColdFusion 8 and then is rendered in an AS3 flash application via a remoting
call. I use a CFC to create an Array to pass data to the flash application.

Here's the weird part. It doesn't seem to matter which browser or version of
the flash player you are using but one user will be provided a list of events
with the correct start and end date, and then another person on a different PC
will get the same event information but with different dates, one day less
exactly???? Keep in mind these machines have identical configurations.

I do not understand how this could be happening.

The MSSSQL 2005 field is a datetime field. But this still does not explain
that the dates drop one day.

Any assistance here would be great.

Hello all,

I am relatively new to Flash development. I am writing a RIA for the
University of Florida and I am looking to use Flex with remoting. The problem
I am currently having is obtaining the Flash remoting components. I have
download the components package in an MSI file listed under the title
"Macromedia Flash Remoting Components for Flash 8 ActionScript 2.0." The URL
for the file is:

_flash8.msi

When I try and install the MSI file, InstallShield fail with the following
error:

1: The InstallScript engine is missing from this machine. If available,
please run ISScript.msi, or contact you support personnel for further
assistance.

I have reproduced the error on three different machines, all Windows XP. I
have install plenty of other MSI packages on my desktop, so the InstallShield
engine is not missing. I have tried every version of InstallShield I could
find, but all of them gave the same error. Has anyone else had this problem?
Is the MSI file corrupt, or is it working fine for everyone else?

I have attempted to work around this problem by manually opening the MSI file
using the open source package WiX (wix.sourceforget.net). This program
succeeded in extracting the files from the apparently...

Kindly help me with getting Flash Remoting started. I am using CF8 and my Flex
client connect to the Flash Remoting.
Fault Detail:
Channel.Connect.Failed error NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Status 500: url:
