hi, My client needs a mailing list. I can use the one my host provideds, but
not too customizable.

Should I stick with my host one? Or look for a free script? Are these secure
for spam etc? Any reccommendations

problems with template working but not working...

Author: RachelM.

Ok, so I have a template I?m using in Dreamweaver 8 ? it?s working out well,
with 3 editable regions, and I'm using a couple of stylesheets as well.
Unfortunately something?s happened to the template though ? I?m able to apply
it to all my pages, but within DW itself the template is showing up as being
unstylized.... you know how a page looks when it doesn?t have a stylesheet
attached ? that plain white and black? That?s how my template (and all my pages
which use the template) looks *within* DW. If I open up the HTML files
created from the template, they'll show up fine in Firefox or Safari - but from
within Dreamweaver itself it's like it's not recognizing the stylesheet in a
way. The path is there correctly - just some how my template is getting in the
way :(

Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas on how to rectify it? I've got a main
stylesheet attached (globalstylesheet.css) but I've never had this problem
before. Help!

images jumble when screen size is changed

when i preview the work (in dreamweaver) that i have done on my website the
images and spacing move when I changed the size of my browser screen. it is
almost as if the images and text are trying to align themselves with the size
of the window screen. I do not want then to be moving around and was wondering
if any one could help me try to fix this problem.
Thanks so much

Should not of been feeling so good

I started to feel good about this site I made, I had people check it in IE7,
Firefox, Safari. They said it looked the way it should. Unfortunately I
downloaded the program to install multiple IE's on my computer and checked
out the site in IE6.

What complete crap my site is, so now I am in panic mode trying to figure
out what happened. Check out this page and tell me what you think..if you
have time. I have gotten it to be ok with CSS validator and html validator,
except for the spry menu. If you could check it out and tell me where I
should be looking to fix this I would appreciate it.

  No Colors in Preview

Author: WtMeWry

I'm going through the CSS tutorial in Dreamweaver CS3 The Missing Manual. The
lesson gives a few paragraphs of text plus a main heading and a couple of h2
headings. I've modified text and heading sizes, added some underlining, and
changed the colors of the h1, h2, and p text. I've saved all, then I've
previewed in Safari and Opera. The underlining, font changes, and line spacing
are accurate, but all the text is black in both browsers. I've viewed the
source in both browsers, and the colors are indicated. Any idea what's wrong?

I'm on an Aluminum 24" iMac 2.8G Core2Duo, Tiger 10.4.11.

Hi Alan,
I am sorry you got offended, I just went to put my baby to bed......
It will have about 7 pages per language, updates needed quite frequently which
is why I wanted to be able to do that myself and attempted this whole thing
(with not much success as is obvious), I am fluent in czech and english, with
spanish and german needing help but have very close friends who would not mind
doing that for me. Plus only parts of these two languages would be updated and
I could handle those parts myself.
Again, sorry for answering later than you expected. Did not know this forum
works this way.....

Re: Is my RAM causing DW 8 to crash?

Thanks for the replies everyone (and the fun side banter)!

I've run the system check of the RAM and it all checks out. I may have to give
a try with removing the sticks and trying them in different slots.

And if it comes to it, I may have to barbecue it and buy new, less ornery RAM,
plus tethering it in the backyard would only cause my neighbors even more
reasons to question my sanity...
