  Recommended resolution for images?

Author: P-C-Surgeon

What would be the recommended resolution for images/backgrounds? I usually
create backgrounds in Fireworks at its default 72 pixels/inches, but would like
to know what works best in DW. Would a higher resolution for the images have
more benefits than problems?

Hide the white space behind active content when first loads.

Hello,

Is there an elegant way to mask the 'hole' in a website where it is waiting
momentarily before it loads active content? I have a Flash video player on a
site against a dark background. But when the page loads, the area for the video
is bright white while the rest of the screen is dark. It's mostly an aesthetic
thing, but if there's a way to tame it I'd like to try.

Thanks,

Tom

Wanting to build a do-it-yourself Web Site company...how?

Author: JSloanSDRE

I have learned alot of great stuff over the years with Web and Graphic Design.
My company, BlackReefDesigns.com is doing fairly well and I want to take the
next step with my company.

I basically have a small group of Real Estate Agents (I'm an Agent myself) and
I want to set up a network where a Real Estate agent pays a monthly fee, and
they can build there own basic website online, through my company server. The
client-end customization won't be too detailed. Just like: Where to put the
Nav Bar, where do you want your main logo, changing of colors, etc. After they
build there simple website, it will be plugged into the Real Estate MLS Server,
so the content of the page between header and footer.asp will be the MLS, where
someone can look at that specific Agent's home listings, and of course I would
charge a small start-up fee, and a monthly fee.

I am very motivated with this, but was wondering if someone can atleast point
me in the right direction on how I can learn how to implement the MLS Online
Software into the web page, and have it customized to that Agent's Listings.
Also would like to learn how to let the agent build his or her own simple web
page layout through my server end.

My site looks different on different machines

Author: DealerISM

Hi,
I am designing a site at http://cbhmotors.com http://www.cbhmotors.com. On my
machine it looks lined up everywhere. I am using stylesheets on the page so far
because I need to learn how to do the stylesheets that I would link to from
outside the document. Anyway, for now I need to make sure everyone sees the
same thing. Example: a friend told me that the photo at the bottom was
overlapping the "spry" tool I have on top of it. Can someone point me in the
right direction?

  Behaviours

Author: revbear

I would appreciate some help on this one, I am unsure if it can be done. I am
using DW 2004, Win XP.

I have a set of image links which are all currently white.

What I would like to achieve is as follows, Lets say I have opened the Home
Page and I would want to navigate to the technical page, I will then click on
the Technical Image link which at this time is white, due to the fact that it
has not been visited. However as soon as I have gone to the Technical Page I
would like that image to be swapped to a grey color image, while all the other
links remain white. If I had to navigate to another page then that link on
that specific page will be grey but then the Technical Page has once again
returned to been white. In other words the grey color link will determine what
page I am currently on.

I have already the different images made up and would like to know is there
anyway that I can achieve this via the Behaviours pallette such as roll over
link or swap image etc. There might be some HTM Code that needs to be inserted
as well, I am unsure.

When I have tried the swap image behaviour and navigate to the Technical Page
the image is still white it only appears grey if I click on the Technical Link
again while I am on the technical page. This is not quite what I am wanting.
