Hi,
I have install on iMag G3 NewWorld, Lenny.
A very minimal install. No Xorg, just the base system.
Seems everithing ok, but when I connect with any user, root included,
Lenny tell me:
You are required to change your password immediatly (root enforced).
Any idea?
Excuse for my bad english.
/paride

As I remember it, the biggest issue was that if you mark it as a type
of Apple_HFS so that you can mount it from macos it will become
unbootable after it gets mounted by the macos. One of the reasons
people wanted yaboot on /boot was to write new kernels and configs
from the macos. I think there were also worries about corrupting
the filesystem due to bugs in the hfs and/or hfsplus drivers in Linux.

Has anyone experienced the error in the attached Xorg.0.log file? I've
also attached my xorg.conf. I've tried all sorts of changes to the
xorg.conf, but nothing works.
Thanks
/Bob

I am running a ppc mac mini with the broadcom chip (bcm4306); am running
debian unstable with kernel 2.6.26-1; have just updated with apt-get
hoping this would ix the problem but it didn't. My wireless suddenly
stopped working--using airport extreme--but still works fine on the mac
side of the computer. /var/log/messages shows all the broadcom components
being loaded but shows link not ready when brought up. cat /proc/net/dev
shows wlan0_rename (also a eth1) but all zeros. The relevant part of lspci
-knn shows:
0001:10:12.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4320] (rev 03)
Kernel driver in use: b43-pci-bridge
Kernel modules: ssb
I did make the firmware changes as instructed with the 2.6.25 kernel
and this problem didn't occur when I changed to 2.6.26.
Has anybody had
this happen and are there other tests I should run or other
logs in which I need to look to find out wt is wrong?
tia.

I did the dist-upgrade on my other G4 running Sid, and the oops
doesn't happen.
Looking at the syslog extracts, it seems that the failing machine
oops-es when it's trying to initialize its Radeon video driver. The
machine that doesn't oops has an ATI Rage video card. The traceback
also mentions radeon. So that's probably where the problem lies.
Do others with Radeon cards have this problem?
Here's the relevant part of "lspci -v" for each of the machines,
incase it's useful:
