Hi there,

I backported the fixes done to libfile-spec-perl to mime-tools, but
I'm having an error on upgrade that I've never seen before and I don't
know how to fix it:

$ LANG=C sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

Calculating upgrade... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:

  RFS/RFC: wdg-offline-validator

Author: David Bremner
Date: Jan 12, 2008 02:10

Dear Team Perl,

This is essentially a resend (with some minor tidying) of an RFS I
send to debian-mentors ten days ago. Note that any potential
uploaders would have to use -sa to force source upload. This is
because debian-mentors can't reach concensus on what versioning scheme
to use :-).

Package name : wdg-offline-validator
Version : 1.2.2-3
Upstream Author : Liam Quinn htmlhelp.com>
URL : http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/offline
License : GPL or Artistic
Programming Lang: Perl
Section : web
ITP : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=458394
Description : command line html validator (front-end for nsglms)

This package provides the command validate, which uses a validating SGML
parser to test for conformance to HTML standards.

It builds these binary packages:

  libfile-spec-perl vs libpathtools-perl

Hi,

This is an older RC bug (#423738), they both are the same but
libpathtools-perl is the name of the tarball of modules File::Spec* and
Cwd, and libfile-spec-perl ships the same under the name of most of the
modules.

A lot of people uses libfile-spec-perl because of this reason, is easily
to find, I was thinking some of both should provides the other, but,
which one? It would be easily if both were from the team :-)

Regards.

  Data::Dumper and libhtml-copy-perl

Hi,

I was checking libhtml-copy-perl dependencies and there were some
missing but I already fixed (packaged libfile-path-perl) but there's
still one missing dependencie, Data::Dumper, I'm afraid is a very old
software with 18 bugs opened, some from 3 years ago and upstream seems
to not be responding.

If someone with more time can test libhtml-copy-perl with the actual
dependencies (please be afraid I added libdata-dumper-perl to Depends on
the Package so if anyone tried to test it without checking
debian/changelog got the error) and get it to work then that could be
great. I'm resisting to package Data::Dumper being so old and unmaintained.
