  funny outputs of ssh-vulnkey

Author: Atsuhito Kohda
Date: May 28, 2008 23:40

Hi all,

on my unstable machine, I checked ssh keys again today
and saw some funny outputs.

$ dpkg -l openssh-client
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Inst/Cfg-files/Unpacked/Failed-cfg/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii openssh-client 1:4.7p1-11 secure shell client, an rlogin/rsh/rcp repla

# ssh-vulnkey -a
/var/spool/lpd/.ssh/id_rsa: Permission denied
/var/spool/lpd/.ssh/id_dsa: Permission denied
/var/spool/lpd/.ssh/identity: Permission denied
/var/spool/lpd/.ssh/authorized_keys: Permission denied
/var/spool/lpd/.ssh/authorized_keys2: Permission denied

With -v option, I saw no problem on my machine but
the above outputs made me very uncertain.

  ITH/ITA fvwm-crystal

Author: Vincent Bernat
Date: May 28, 2008 22:50

Hi!

#468644 is a proposed orphan on fvwm-crystal pending since late
February. fvwm-crystal seems unmaintained since several months (even
more than one year). I am using it daily on several hosts. I therefore
itend to hijack it in a few days if nobody opposes.

Thanks.

Description : bind-mount bash as /bin/sh

Small program to bind-mount bash as /bin/sh for its child processes.
.
It can be used when bash is not the default shell interpreter but a given
program makes use of bashisms (features not required by Policy for sh) and one
wants to run it without changing (or can not change) the default sh.

  Bug#483373: ITP: libmoosex-strictconstructor-perl -- Makes Moose object constructors blow up on unknown attributes

Author: Antony Gelberg

Package: wnpp

Version : 0.05
Upstream Author : Dave Rolsky urth.org>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/MooseX-StrictConstructor/

Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Makes Moose object constructors blow up on unknown attributes

Using this class to load Moose instead of just loading using
Moose itself makes your constructors "strict". If your constructor
is called with an attribute init argument that your class does not
declare, then it calls "Carp::confess()". This is a great way to catch
small typos.

  Bug#483364: ITP: libmoose-policy-perl -- Allows specification of Moose meta-policy

Author: Antony Gelberg
Date: May 28, 2008 06:20

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Antony Gelberg wayforth.co.uk>

* Package name : libmoose-policy-perl
Version : 0.03
Upstream Author : Stevan Little iinteractive.com>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Moose-Policy/
* License : GPL, Artistic
Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Allows specification of Moose meta-policy

Many of Moose's features can be customized through the use of custom
metaclasses, however fiddling with the metaclasses can be hairy.
Moose::Policy removes most of that hairiness and makes it possible to
cleanly contain a set of meta-level customizations in one easy to use
module.

  Alioth slowness - web pages not loading, top showing 10.00+

Author: no-from-header-present
Date: May 28, 2008 01:10

Hello,

While doing some research on git and alioth, certain web pages take
very long to load and some time out. For example, I am having
trouble reaching the debian-perl team's web site -
http://pkg-perl.alioth.debian.org/

When I log into alioth via ssh and do a quick top, I see that there
are some processes (postmaster) using a lot of CPU and that the one
minute load average appeared quite high, i.e. > 10.00.

While I realize that alioth is a bit of a workhorse and is used to
running under heavy load, I thought I would report this slowness
and heavy load to this list in case someone thought it was worth
looking into.

Thanks,

Jeremiah

  Re: Debian Menu transition status

Please note that this is *very* easy to fix. I fixed numerous such
issues while doing l10n NMUs, so anyone doing an upload (regular, NMU
for whatever reason...) should (must!) take the few seconds needed to
look at lintian warnings about such menu section errors and fix *.menu
files according to the new menu layout.
