Bug#490688: gnus: Old alpha version shouldn't be included in lenny

Author: Mika Tiainen
Date: Jul 13, 2008 10:40

Package: gnus
Version: 5.11+v0.5.dfsg-3
Severity: serious

This package should be orphaned, currently it has a two year old version of
the gnus development series (No Gnus). If the package goes to lenny it should
atleast have the latest No Gnus version.

I have not had any problems with No Gnus, but they are still declared alpha
versions, and maybe should be completely kept out of stable. Both emacs and
xemacs have the latest stable Gnus already included.

-- System Information:
Debian Release: lenny/sid
APT prefers unstable
APT policy: (500, 'unstable')
Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)

Kernel: Linux 2.6.25.9 (SMP w/2 CPU cores)
Locale: LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash

Bug#490683: qa.debian.org: package ktechlab has no new bugs

Author: Georges Khaznadar
Date: Jul 13, 2008 09:40

Package: qa.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hello,
the page http://qa.debian.org/excuses.php?package=ktechlab
states two wrong assertions, which I present below. Please take the time
to check the status of this package, and fix the wrong excuse items.

Here are the two wrong assertions:

1- ktechlab (source, i386, alpha, amd64, arm, armel, hppa, ia64, mips,
mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc) has new bugs!

The link points to
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?which=pkg&data=ktechlab&sev-inc=critical&sev...
which contains a reference to bug #474842, which is now resolved since
the 10th June.

2- Updating ktechlab introduces new bugs: #474842

This is wrong again (same reason: updating ktechlab from version 0.3-5
to 0.3-9 closes the bug, which was found with version 0.3-8, and fixed
in version 0.3-9, as correctly stated in the page
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=474842)

Best regards, Georges.
