looking at debian-cd svn, i noticed that there was a FIXME for supporting
ISOLINUX_DEFAULT.

this very imperfect patch at the very least gets installgui working with the
menus, to make Graphical Install the default menu selection, although it relies
on text.cfg getting loaded before gtk.cfg:

Hello,

Last weekend I had my @Home server (Quad-Xeon with plenty or memory and
heavy SCSI drives) at a fried with a fast 20MBit ADSL connection.

I have tried to download the Etch DVD ISO binary 1 image and the second
time with torrent...

With the ISO download I get nearly 2 MByte/Second and the download was
done in arround 39:42 Minutes.

Then I have rebooted my Server and downloaded using Torrent... It was
realy frustrating. It took me over 3 hours.

This mean, since I have NO internet connection except GSM @home where I
live (and I am not the only one) we ned to download the stuff @work or
in Internet-Cafes where we can not wait over 3 hours... (1h cost 2-4€)

Since the first time I have tried Torrent it was a problem. Torrent is
very slow and the Disk-IO is nearly 7 times higher...

So, Torrents are no option for me.

And last not least I should note:

I made an installation the other day with the official CD1 and noticed
that when selecting the US, the mirror ftp.debian.org was highlighted
instead of ftp.us.debian.org. I believe this result in even more people
using a mirror that is supposed to be put out of circulation. You have
to move the cursor to use ftp.us.debian.org, which probably only happens
if you know ftp.debian.org is not the official mirror for the US, and is
not the same as ftp.us.debian.org, which is the round-robin people
should prefer. I suspect few know this.

Just a reminder to the installer people.
