It was on the News tonight, I think they meant to have people looking at it,
pour encourager les autres. I'm baffled, I thought it was to be speed trap
areas and such, but for around here it shows the most dangerous stretches of
road by accident rate, and if anything all these places are notable for the
complete absence of Garda activity for the last 15 years that I know of. It
seems to be little more than the modern equivalent of those big black discs
with 'accident black spot' written beneath.
Not one of the spots listed EVER have a Garda presence, and not one of their
favourite spots around here, hidden in dips or under bridges, are listed.
Also, in 15 years of driving the Limerick and Galway roads to Dublin, I have
only seen them 3 times. 3 times in 15 years!
