What would be the point ?

If it's for convenient update, there is already hot deployment support: you
can copy a new JSP or update a JSP by simply copying the file at the right
place.

So, basically, the minimum required is a dummy/empty EAR to install within
WebSphere and then copy new content manually.

Obviously, this is convenient for development/test, but for production,
you'll want to deploy complete EAR.

dear all,
i have just installed updateinstaller and put it in AppServer then extract FixPack1.zip then put it in maintenance folder after some steps it asked me about *.pack files when i give it ,it told me either corrupted or dependencies cause.
would anyone give me some suggestions? may be i install the wrong version for windows:
i choose this :
32-bit x86 AMD/Intel AppServer
my purpose to update WAS6.1.0 to take these fixes packs.

Please help
