Go one better, Paul, and take her out for an unexpected supper.
Someone else will handle *those* dishes! :-)

I'd recommend the brunch at 44 North next Sunday to make up for this
terrible tragedy. We were there yesterday - pricey but MMMM. :)

Would you recommend the steaks, KD? My wife and I love steak, and
by the looks of this link they do too!

Thanks for the tip! :-)

Can't say I've had the steaks unfortunately. But the brunch has a lot
of very delicious foods, and fabulous desserts, I'm sure their steak
would be worth it too. Brunch is costly, I think it was about $35 a
person, but worth it to us.

The way we look at it KD, it's a night (or in your case a day) on
the town; something special to do, and this spot sounds like a good one.
Back in the 80s I was fond of Mother Tucker's, The Beanery in Bedford...
many more I can't think of right now, but I've always found that
restaurants with a hefty price generally serve great food, have a nice
atmosphere and the service is stupendous.

I was thinking he should run to the store, buy two gallons of water,
come home, heat it in the kettle, pour it into a basin, and wash the
damn dishes.

That would work too, but where's the romance in that? I suppose
Paul could toss the plates and buy a new set as well, but that takes the
sizzle out of the evening, I think.

I like married life. Good company. She gets me doing things I
wouldn't ordinarily bother doing. I went on vacation trips to PEI,
Cape Breton and the South Shore, and I probably wouldn't have gone
if I'd been alone. Some things are a bit of an adjustment. I no
longer have the whole car to myself ... or the whole bed, either.
But overall, it's was a good change in my lifestyle.

I was thinking he should wash the dishes more often. How sad is that
being a special treat?
