I am sort of an electronics enthusiast, having an extensive experience with
microcontrollers. I used to program them using development boards with
basic hardware on it. Now I am looking for something similar to play with
an Intel CPU (e.g. Pentium 4). Literally, I need a system with basic
components, which could be attached to a PC for programming/manipulation.
Also, I would like to be able to modify the BIOS: essentially I want to feed
the processor with my own code from the moment of power on.
I searched the Intel web site. There is something resembling what I want:

The kit even has a schematic diagram! However, still I am not sure if it is
a right thing. The price is more than a thousand $$, I'm afraid to waste
it.

Hi,

ok, heute hab ich nochmal etwas am Rechner gebastelt und da hat sich
das Slotblech der Soundkarte unter der IDE-Buchse verfangen. Ich hab
es zwar vorsichtig herausgezogen, aber jetzt wird am IDE-Port kein
Gerät mehr erkannt, das Kabel habe ich auch mal getauscht. In den
nächsten Tagen wird ein SATA-Brenner kommen, von daher ist das ganze
jetzt nicht so wild, allerdings ärgert mich das schon.

Nun stelle ich mir die Frage, was ist passiert? Dass ich mit dem
Slotblech ein paar SMD-Bauteile abgeschert habe? Möglich, jedoch habe
ich bis jetzt nichts auf dem Gehäuseboden gefunden. Oder ist eher ein
Pin des Anschlusses vom MB getrennt worden? Dass würde ich mir sogar
trauen nachzulöten.

Naja, es darf spekuliert werden...
