problems compile apache 2.2.8 under AIX 6.1

Author: schnupfy

Hey all,

I am trying to compile apache 2.2.8 with gcc 4.0.0 under AIX. I have
no idea why it fails. The configure runs fine without any errors, but
the make always fails. I've already tried to use gcc 4.2.2 without
success.

here the output of make:

Making all in srclib
Making all in apr
/bin/sh /image/httpd-2.2.8/srclib/apr/libtool --silent --
mode=compile gcc -g -O2 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -U__STR__ -D_THREAD_SAFE -
I./include -I/image/httpd...

Under usual terminoligy the CEC ("Central Electronic Complex") of a
p630 (7028-6C4) would be the server itself. That is, you cannot have a
CEC attached to a 7028-6C4. So, do you mean an expansion drawer?
Usually this would be a 7311-D10 or -D20.

index'd auth files, mkuser and duplicate group ids

Author: openstream rob

Hi
I've had a good look around and have not seen anything reported like
the problem I'm experiencing.

I'm developming an application environment where each server is
sharing all the passwd/group/user files from /etc/and /etc/security
via symbolic links to a common GPFS filesystem.

Everything has been working well in development, however I've just
started to have a problem as I've introduced the use of mkpasswd to
index the group and passwd files(and associated files). As the base
auth files are replaced by links to a GPFS shared filesystem, I have
wrapped the mkpasswd command so that the created *.idx files are also
copied to the GPFS filesystem and local sym linkes are made on each
server.

I've described the linking process incase someone raises and eyebrow
and says that's not going to work because to simplfy the fault
environment I have repeated the problem on a local server, with NO sym
links at all. Just the regular files and indexes.

  Using @ in a password

Author: Bryan
Date: Jan 31, 2008 09:59

Greetings. I have a script that uses a user name and password, where
the first character in the password is a '@' symbol. I can change
the
password, using the passwd command, of the user id, but the only way
it will accept the password, when I try to log in is if I put an '\'
in front of the password. Is there a work around
for this, or a config file that I can change to allow an @ in the
password?

Much appreciated,

Bryan

sqlstm.sqharc What is it? And what does it do? It keeps getting corrupted on me.

Author: 44dd44
Date: Jan 31, 2008 09:20

This is generated by a Pro*C compiler running on an AIX box.
It usually contains the proper data, but every once in a while, and
only on 2 certain record types, it gets populated w/ blanks. If I
process those record types separately, then there's no problem w/ any
of the record types (there are 7 of them for the record).

So, what is sqharc, and how does it get populated? The pre-compiler
generated code doesn't populate it anywhere. I've searched online, but
the only hits I get are copies of code from people asking for help w/
problems.
As for documentation, I haven't found any that help. I've searched
both IBM and Oracle sites. Nada e niente.

I copied the code below, but it's all generated by the pre-compiler,
and the original is very basic - initialize the necessary fields and
do a SELECT to return 1 row.

Can anybody help?
Regards
Tom

  Segmentation fault with su -

Author: giuseppe.lorena

Hi all,

I'm on AIX 5.3 ML06.
I have a strange problem: when I try to switch user with su - from a
specific user, after typing the password, I get a "Segmentation fault"
error.

If I try with another user or with the same user only with su, no
problem.

Adding the "security" group to the user the segfault error disappear,
but if I try su - from another user that doesn't have "security" group
there are no problem...

Strange, isn't it?

Any idea?

Thanks a lot,

  CDE

Author: vaitheeshkanna
Date: Jan 29, 2008 03:18

Hi,

I'm working in AIX environment and getting this issue.

CDE must use dthello program to display Business Use Notice in /etc/
motd

What should I do from here...

This is how the setting is there on the server

in /etc/dt/config/Xsession.d/myvars

#!/bin/ksh
#
# This file should be copied into the directory /etc/dt/config/
Xsession.d
# with "r" and "x" accesses for all users
#
dtstart_hello[0]="/usr/dt/bin/dthello -file /etc/motd &"

anything has to be done for resolving that issue,

I am not using X windows but still need to resolve this stuff. Please
someone help.

Thanks in advance.
