Hi Gurus,
I'm trying jumpstart T2K server and it fails with following error:
{0} ok boot /pci@780/pci@0/pci@1/network@0 -s
Boot device: /pci@780/pci@0/pci@1/network@0 File and args: -s
Manual Configuration: Host IP, boot server and filename must be
specified
ERROR: boot-read fail
I checked the show-nets and watch-nets to make sure the NIC is
connected and has the right MAC address defined in the jumpstart
server.
{0} ok cd /pci@780/pci@0/pci@1/network@0
{0} ok .properties
local-mac-address 00 14 4f 82 41 46
mac-addresses 00 14 4f 82 41 46
grep t2k1 /etc/ethers
00:14:4f:82:41:46 t2k1.domain.com
Jumpstart server is fine.

Hi there !
After some trouble , I finally got netatalk 2.0.3 compiled and installed
(Solaris 10u5 on a X4140) but its kernel module fails to load. Basically,
things are as described on
http://www.unixzone.dk/unix/20060122/appletalk-on-solaris
I had to do a little more to get it compiled and "make kinstall" didn't
work - so I copied ddp and ddp.conf manually and issued the remaining
commands from the Makefile. The error message is exactly the same as
mentioned on the page (relocation error) and ...
... I was hoping that a reboot might help but this was a bad idea. It
started with "Couldn't configure IPv4 interface nge0", and Solaris seemed
to be completely corrupted. I can't see a direkt link between the two
things ...
Anybody git that running?
TIA

On behalf of a genuine world-leader in the travel industry - based in
Dallas / Fort Worth, TX - is urgently seeking a SENIOR SOLARIS 10 /
RED HAT 4 & 5 SYSTEM ENGINEER to help support their array of billion-
dollar, customer-facing technologies (i.e. Websites, self-service
kiosks, IVR).
The SYSTEM ENGINEER will be responsible for the administration and
engineering of an extremely complex environment which comprises
Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, WebSphere, J2EE-based applications
and Oracle 10g RAC. Said environment is NOT Production - their
Production environment is outsourced - but it is certainly āProduction-
Strengthā due to the very nature of their business model,
transactional volumes, number of āmoving partsā, etc.. Put simply, the
environment in question - which comprises Development, Test and
Staging - is far larger and more complex than most other companiesā
Production environments.

Hi.
I have a linux server, and a bunch of solaris clients. I've set it up
the authorized keys file for each user on the clients to contain the
rsa public key of the respective user. This holds true for root as
well.
There are no issues with root logging in to the solaris clients using
public key authorisation. However, no other user can log in to the
solaris machines using public keys. The ssh waits at a password
prompt.
The error message that I see when running the server in debug mode is
------------------------------------------------
debug1: trying public key file /home/nostromo/.ssh/authorized_keys
debug1: matching...

Hi All,
I have a problem with a SAN setup: one StorEdge T3 is shared through a
hub between 2 Sun Blade 1000 attached to the hub via the external FC-
AL port.
The problem is that from each blade 1000 I can see the other blade's
internal drives. That must be because the blade 1000 external FC-AL
connector is linked to the internal disks' loop.
In addition, when I cold boot one of the hosts while the other is up
and running, the other host hangs, loosing connectivity to the
internal drives. This might happen through some sort of bus reset sent
by the booting blade.
Is there a way to protect the internal drives from external access and
interfering, that does not involve the installation of an additional
FC-AL adapter or the purchase of an expensive switch?
Thank you in advance.
Hay

Hi,
My news server machine (Sun E450 running Inn 2.4.4 under Solaris 9) has
throttled itself with this bunch of error messages:

sci.physics
Jun 28 16:46:22 yoda innd: [ID 297438 news.crit] SERVER throttle no matching

Jun 28 16:46:22 yoda innd: [ID 492761 news.error] SERVER cant store article:

along with a continual logging of:
Jun 28 17:06:00 yoda innxmit[19237]: [ID 459695 news.error] tradspool: could
not mmap article: Invalid argument
which occurs every 30 minutes (due to the way the 'news' crontab entries are
set up I think).

Hi
I'm trying to find out which are the exactly steps to reconfigure ip
address for SC0 and SC1 on a Sunfire 4800.
And do you know if this operation will give a domain downtime?
Thanks.

Since a couple of weeks I am the proud owner of an old Ultra 2.
I successfully installed Solaris 10 and it worked all fine. Until
yesterday: it hangs while booting.
Going in diagnostics mode (STOP-D) I get quite a bit of output
but it always stops and hangs after 'Probing sbus ..... '
Using STOP-F I can test a few things, but see nothing odd.
I assume I am dealing with some hardware failure.
Is there a way to find out what may be wrong? Is it a hardware
failure and then what may be failing? Any hints at all?
Thanks heaps!
Bronwyn
