dial-up internet/file server

hello all,

i'm trying to set up my old powermac as a dial-up internet and file
server... i want to be able to dial in from my macbook pro and get
(slow) access to my cable internet connection. also, being able to
access the powermac's files would be a cool bonus.

i know how to configure the client (Macs for Dummies, they explained
the client end but not how to configure the server)

any help would be greatly appreciated,

Not sure if you found a solution already, but there is a how-to
article on how to do this, here:
<http://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20060401233540392>

The article was written in early 2006 so I think it's for 10.4; use
caution if you're going to try it on 10.5. I'm not sure what software
might have changed and I doubt keeping pppd working is a real high
priority for Apple.

You also might want to see if there's a newer compiled version of
mgetty floating around, although I did check the download link in the
article and it still works.
