  Alternatives to Tex-Edit Plus

Author: Dylan Winslow
Date: Jul 4, 2008 19:49

I've used Tex-Edit Plus for a while now for reformatting text, but the
developer seems to have stopped work on it, and the most recent version
is a couple of years old and is PPC-only. Does anyone have any
suggestions for something more current that approximates the features of
Tex-Edit?

Thanks.

Two different sites that I recently looked at, as I said.

  Are Software Updates pre-downloaded?

Author: AES
Date: Jul 4, 2008 12:59

When the Software Update window opens and says, "New Software is
available for your computer", and the highlighted button says "Install 2
Items", in many cases when I say Yes, the installation completes much
more rapidly than these large items could possibly be downloaded on my
slow "broadband" connection, so they must have been pre-downloaded.

But is this _always_ the case?

I'm looking at one of these alerts at the minute; I'd be willing to go
off and do something else for a few minutes, while the installation
takes place; but I also know our broadband connection is being fully
saturated by another user, who'll be using it for quite a while. Should
I risk starting the install?

Are you saying there's no audio at all from Safari currently, from _any_
site, or just from a specific site?

If it's from all sites, is it unique to your current user account, or
does it happen also if you switch to another account (create a new
account for testing purposes if necessary)?

I doubt it's relevant to your problem, but you're out-of-date on all of

I have been attempting to watch some video in Safari but not getting any
sound. So far I have had this twice, once on an animated ecard with
sound, the other an interview,

Changing to iCab gives the sound.

I am wondering what's gone wrong, what I should look for. I certainly
have had sound previously.

Safari 3.1.1, OS 10.5.3 , QuickTime Player 7.4.5 currently

I'll try to explain this properly but I'll probably fail. :)

I want to make a long list (a text document) with the first word of each
item being the most important. Everything will be in alphabetical order.
