In the last few days I've been getting many spinning beach balls,
sometimes for several minutes at a time. Activity Monitor sometimes
shows almost no significant activity, other times it shows (under CPU, %%
System) a lot of activity, but only in %% System. There is no app that
is using the resources. Any idea how to track this down? It may be
related to the fact that Retrospect and Silverkeeper can't seem to
backup anything without errors.

...combined.
"Research recently published by Canalys on fourth quarter smart phone
sales put the Apple iPhone, which has only been on the market for less
than half a year, in second place for U.S. market share behind Research
In Motion (RIM) and its BlackBerry. Given the short time frame, this is
pretty amazing, but the iPhone also beat out all of the
Microsoft-Windows-Mobile-equipped phones, which came in third place with
a 21%% share of the market. "

Study: Apple, Moto, Sony Ericsson lost share
Friday, April 25, 2008 @ 10:15am
Apple joins Motorola and Sony Ericsson as the firms losing cellphone
marketshare in early 2008, according to a new study by research group
Strategy Analytics. Sales of 1.7 million iPhones during the first
calendar quarter of 2008 are said to have resulted in an actual drop in
the iPhone's effect despite its young status, reducing the newcomer's
marketshare from 0.7 to 0.6 percent from quarter to quarter. The drop is
directly attributed to a combination of shortages as well as a glut of
unsold units in Europe at the time. The phone is simply "overpriced" for
the continent at its normal cost, Strategy Analytics director Neil
Mawson says.
