  CT's old PC300GL

Author: Tim Knight/CT

Yup, I know it ain't a PS/2.....but it ain't spam either!

Running either Win98se or Win2K on the above machine, I get the
following message at shutdown:

NMI: PARITY CHECK / MEMORY PARITY ERROR

SYSTEM HALTED (it tells me also to check with the
manufacturer .....the manufacturer of what?)

I have googled up all kinds of wild-ass things an nothing seems to
fit. Can somebody give me a place to start (and not by throwing this
old girl in the trash either)?

What is a safe way to clean corrosion?

Author: Mark Dodel

I just took apart a Thinkpad 701c that has a BIOS password that I am
attempting to clear. There is some powdery residue caked inside the
battery compartment that has leaked into a few areas surrounding it.
Is there a safe way to remove this?

Mark
