Playing WoW as a Female Character...

... can at times be downright creepy.

I've played on this character (female priest Blood Elf, or whatever) maybe
about 10 hours. So far, I've received 3 propsitions to Cyber, about 10
attempts to flirt, and more than a few suggestive comments in area chat. My
wife thought it was hilarious, but some of the comments were rather nasty.

Attention Internet users: The female character you're interacting with may
not really be a female. And if she is, generally she's probably not looking
to Cyber. Especially with you. But such notices usually go unheeded. :-)

Anyways, what's the worst game in terms of attitudes towards female
characters? I imagine it probably has to be WoW. I would have guessed Conan
(not played it), but I would imagine it's clear most of the female
characters are really male players looking for a little topless fun.

Anyone else have any interesting play-as-a-female-character experiences?
Does it get less creepy in WoW as a female character after you get passed
the newbie areas? Or should I just re-roll?

Re-roll.

FWIW: No one ever tried to cyber with my female ogre in EQ, even other
ogres.

I never played any "hottie" females characters. I had a female gnome
and a female human who had white hair and a scowling face. The gnome
had been called a bitch once (from out of the blue); and someone asked
my why I chose an ugly look for my human...

That's a great idea. If I ever feel the need to make another female
character, I'll make it as nasty as possible. :-)

Maybe next time I won't name my toon "H0ttie4Hire". J/K :-) It's a normal
name... autogenerated.

I wasn't actually trying to make her ugly, I just wanted an
appropriate look for a warrior - shorter hair and a scowl.
