Zeno’s Warbird Video Drive-In Big August 2008 Newsletter
Hello World War 2 plane fans ---
You’re invited to drop by Zeno's Drive-In www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com
for this month’s summer six pack of a half-dozen WW2 combat aircraft
documentary films playing over the Internet. We're paying special
attention to the 65th Anniversary of the epic Ploesti mission,
including a new film on one of the participants, the 98th Bomb Group,
now playing at the Matinee. The newsletter is a little late getting
out because Zeno has been beavering away producing several new
programs.
Just like the day we opened on July 15, 1997, all the World War II
aircraft videos on our site are showing for free, for your viewing
pleasure
Now showing At the Matinee
“White Tailed Marauders” The 323rd...

Does anyone have any thoughts/experience using the Thrustmaster Cougar
HOTAS? Does it work with the CH or Saitek rudder pedals. I currently have a
Saitek X-52, have had the X-36 and Sun (??) HOTAS in the past (still have
both). Is anyone using the Cougar currently?
Thanks,
John

New subscriber, so if this is old news, sorry.
I don't sim NEARLY as much as some of the other contributors. Got my
Private Pilot license back in '90 when I had Money. But then came Marriage,
Mortgage, and Munchkin - the latter 3 M-words have used up almost all the
initial M-word (I.e. "Money). I have MS FS9, FSX, and CFS (Pacific
Theater). CFS is just for fun (okay, I play it because it feeds my
self-image as an aviation combat GOD).
FS9 and FSX, however, I use to try and retain at least a few real-world GA
skills. FS9 runs okay on my 5-yr-old PC, FSX looks great but is too
demanding. Is it possible to have a well-performing but low-cost
flight-sim-dedicated PC, I.e. a machine with nothing but avsims and
associated software? I'd like to bury all the setting sliders at maximum
and still get smooth performance.
I am asking the impossible, or merely the improbable?
Thanks, folks!!!
Mike T.

I really want to like this game but I can't when your crate gets off the
ground on takeoff quicker than an F16. WTF is up with that? This game is no
real challenge for me and that is why it is weak IMO. Hard flight model
still gets off the ground just as quick but hard flight model has some
really weird things happening in it and seems less realtistic to me than
the normal flight model. Rudder control on hard just causes the plane to
roll and on normal it causes the plane to slide and turn which according to
what I have read is how it should be in these WWI planes. Another real weak
thing about it is even though I have bullet effectiveness at hard setting I
can still shoot down an enemy plane with a few rounds and the plane
explodes in a fireball. On a similar note, I can sink a cargo...

I can't sem to be able to access all the airports in the game, I found where
they're supposed to be but only have maybe 50 and a bunch of hospitals and
such.
Thanks
