My HP C7180 All-in-one will no longer print black. Colors work fine.
I have done all the usual things, including a hard reset on the panel,
updating the driver, using a new reservoir, cleaning the print head
multiple times (via the menu). The contacts are clean, the reservoir
is full. I suspect that the print head may need a manual cleaning.
Can anyone tell me how to do this? Replacement print heads cost more
than the machine is worth. HP email techs have been no help so far.
Thanks.

Want circuit diagrams for HP Pavilion ZE5730us motherboard power
circuitry. Trying to determine why power will come on for 5 seconds,
then turn off. It does produce 5volts from the supply, either with or
without the 16volt battery, so I suspect power control circuitry.
Since power on switch is a momentary contact push button, I'm focusing
on the latching circuits in the power control chain and wish to
identify those components. Any HP schematics in this are might be
helpful.

I have a dv9000 HP laptop that has suddenly started to shut itself off
after it's been on for a while. Last night, I was watching television
on it in my dorm when it suddenly shut down. I believe this is heat
related and am not sure what to do about it. The laptop is about 12
months old, has a Vista OS, sets squarely on the desk with nothing
under it (clothing, table clothes, etc). It was on for a little over
an hour when this happened and it hasn't been all that hot here in the
PNW these past days so... Anyone else have similar problems or know
what I might do about it?
thanks very much,
John

Im guessing this has been asked before, couldn't find anything in search
on this though. I need to update the drivers on the Asus
P5BW-LA(Basswood3G). I have already checked Asus for a driver and
nothing on the list matches the text P5BW-LA. I looked on the HP website
for drivers and still cant find anything. Am I just blind? Can anyone
give me a direct link to what I need, or atleast point me in the right
direction?
thanks in advance.

Wondering if anyone can please help me on this…
I am a professional photographer and print large photorealistic
posters on an HP DesignJet 800 - 42” Printer using Adobe PhotoShop7,
Win XP Pro SP2 on a Dual Core Pentium Intel Platform with 2GB Computer
RAM, 250GB Computer Hard Drive along with 160 MB Printer RAM (Max RAM
the printer will allow) and a 20GB Printer Hard Drive.
I have no difficulty printing both TIFF or JPEG files up to a file
size of about 55MB with the “Best (Enhanced)” feature for “Images” at
“Maximum Detail” enabled on the “Paper/Quality” tab of the “HP
DesignJet 800 Properties” window and am very happy with the print
quality this setup delivers. However, when I try printing anything
larger than this file size, every print I try gives me a pair of
banding lines at about one third and another pair of banding lines at
about two thirds the way through of the print’s length using the
“Portrait” orientation.

I was thinking about getting a UPS. The main power is pretty stable around
here, so I only need it for those occasional moments where the power
flickers off for no more than a minute. So, I was thinking about buying the
cheapest UPS at the local store, which is the same model found here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101344
I would like to connect my 550 watt power supply from my computer, and my
19" LCD monitor. But I'm wondering if I can actually do damage to my
components if I overload the UPS with too many power hungry components.
If the UPS was overloaded, would the computer and monitor connected to it
just shut off, the same as it would if the main power supply dipped below a
adequate level? Or are there other dangers to consider?

Please excuse that I'm away from the machine and don't have the model
number, but...
I opened the machine recently and saw a small black fan simply hanging
down. The pc later over-heated, so I figured it must have come loose
when I opened it.
The fan seems to snap on to the heat sink, but in a position where it
blows onto the heat sink rather than away. Is this correct? (I
didn't see another way to position it).
