Tape sound mystery

Hi there,

I'm not an 8-bit Atari user, but I recently got loads of Oric tapes -
and found some unknown-sounding tape signal among them.
See here:
http://mercenarysite.free.fr/oric/tap_inconnu.zip

Can anyone tell me if it's for an 8-bit Atari, would it be some turbo
loader or whatever?

Seems so far it's not standard
Oric/Amstrad/C64/Exelvision/TI99/ZX81/Sharp MZ.

Thanks in advance to anyone helping!
Simon.

Thanks a lot !
By chance, do you know which model?

I'll try and see what kind of decoders exist.

Cheers.

Sure, it is any of the 8-bit Ataris, 400, 800,
800XL, 600XL, 130XE, 65XE, 65XEGS,
1200XL, and rare 1400XL.
There is a wav to CAS program, never used it,
but I guess you hook up your analog tape player
to the input of a PC sound card and it will ...

It could be any one, you'd never know from the sound of the tape, only
by trying to run it on different models. Some older programs would only
run on 400/800, and there weren't many people using cassettes after the
XL/XE models were introduced. The way the Atari tape system worked, I
don't think turbo loaders were possible, but I could be wrong.

Thanks a lot for the info.
I tried the conversion program, I'm not quite sure about the result but
it doesn't seem to display too many errors.
I'll have to check some day with an emulator!

Thanks again!
