Hi everyone further to the PCW looking for a new home I still have some
drive belts left over. They were bought from CPC a few years ago and
have a manufacture date of May 2004. They are however brand new and
still in their sealed packets. Details are 69mm diameter, 0.6mm width
and 3mm deep they are suitable for the Amstrad 464,6128 and PCW`s and I
have used them on all machines. They will probably be suitable for the
Spectrum drive also. If anyone in the UK needs some then drop me a line
and we can sort something out.
Regards David Parkes

I've got a PCW8256, beefed up to 512k, that's surplus to requirements.
Not used since 1995. The disk drive doesn't work, I find, but I
gather it just needs a new belt (?). If anyone is keen enough to come
and collect it, they're welcome to it.
I'm in south Leeds, close to motorways.

Hi,
After long break,I back to working on CPiC project. Now converter supporting
3 CPC overscaned modes (files with integrated display routine),SGX format
(CPC&MSX) and SymbOS video format(CPC&MSX). CPiC got also graphic editor and
many additional options (now it's posiible to converting image without
dithering if it's in supported color depth ). New puzzle game 'MOVE IT',
with 10 levels converted in CPiC, is first effect of new version. Both files
can be download from www.cpcarea.pl.

Hi all.
I had a nostalgic moment and rummaged about in my archives. Doubt
they're of much interest to anyone else, but what source files still
exist for the early Design Design games can be found here, including
some bits (incomplete) of Tank Busters for the CPC64 etc.
http://www.desdes.com/products/oldfiles/index.htm
Be warned, they're not pretty. I suspect that there might be some more
Amstrad source files that I haven't recovered yet, but gawd knows
when/if I'll ever get round to it.
Have fun, we had fun writing them...

Hi all,
Does anyone have Granny's Garden for use on a CPC emulator?
I remember at school in the early 80's playing this on the class BBC
computer and would like to relive old times.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi all,
I've recently aquired (in two seperate ebay auctions) an Amstrad CPC 464
and a DDI-1 floppy interface.
As I don't have the original Amstrad 3" floppy unit to provide power for
this, I have modified it by connecting the +5V on the DDI to the +5V output
of the CPC, and disconnecting the +5V rail from the floppy cable, so that I
can use it with a standard floppy drive. It all seems to work fine but will
this cause a problem ? It should be noted that I'm powering all this from a
little swirched mode 5V 2.5A PSU, which is more than the Amstrad
modulator/PSU unit I have supplies.
I have been working on and off on a program to read and write CPC and
Spectrum +3 disks on a Windows PC using fdrawcmd.sys, which is currently
all working fine in read-only mode for Spectrum disks, which seem to be
pretty standard 9 sectors / track disks with the sectors numbered 1..9,
however the CPC disks seem to have the sectors numbered from 65..73, which
is to say the least odd, is this normal or is something here screwy ?
Two of these where written with CPCDiskXP, and the other a disk formatted
on the CPC (under CP/M). Also the CPC seems able to read the Spectrum
disks, but I have not yet tried the CPC disks in the Spectrum.

Calling all North East UK retro computer users... do you want a local user
group?
There's doesn't seem to be any in my area (Durham) and a friend and I are
thinking about starting one.
It will cater for all 8-bit machines (Acorn, Amstrad, Commodore, Atari,
Sinclair etc) up to the early 16-bit era of Amiga and ST machines.
Is there any interest for this kind of group?
Planning on having monthly meets with machines, a website and forum. A good
source for local information and help
If you're interested, please reply here or email me directly.
Cheers
Pete.

Hi, hope I've come to the right place for advice.
I have a PCW8512 plus bits & pieces that I'm looking to get rid of,
and don't know what's the best approach. I'm in Edinburgh. Do people
normally sell, recycle, donate or landfill?
All advice gratefully received!
