Thanks for the replies - just the sort of common sense input I was hoping
for.
I'll probably put the monitor on the box - but strengthening supports
sound sensible anyway - and I should be able manage a few strips of
something rigid from my workshop/junk room.
If in the event I decide to put the box on the floor tower-wise I take the
point about ventilation and can manage that too*.

* My memory is that the feet didn't come with the machine (in 1997!) but
it has never been an issue till now - I certainly couldn't get them from
NCS! now

I've an elderly - but adequate - iiyama vision master 17 monitor which I
use with my Risc PC. The monitor and the Risc PC stand on separate
shelves.
Trying to liberate shelf/workstation space in my crowded office - which it
and I share with a WinXP box and a couple of printers - I'm wondering
about standing the monitor on top of the Risc PC. The welcome guide says
you CAN put a monitor of up to 16 kilogrammes on top of the Risc PC. I
haven't weighed the iiyama but it is pretty heavy. Does anyone have any
relevant views or experience?
Alternatively I have room to put the Risc PC on the floor as a tower - but
the Welcome guide seems to imply that as a single layer machine I
shouldn't - and that the CD drive wouldn't work if I did - and that even
then I'd need special feet. Again, does anyone have any relevant views or
experience, please?

Hello, is it possible to run 2 monitors off a RISCOS system?, if so, can it
be done with a RISC PC running RISCOS 4.03? Can i just put a second graphics
card in it and do it that way?
Thanks Ed.

I have a small basic prog here which, given the earth station's
latitude and longitude and the sat's longitude will calculate
azimuth and elevation for your contact.
Send me a valid email address if you'd like it.

I'd very much like to be able to transfer disk images (in .ssd and .dsd
format) to real 5.25" floppies.
Can this be done? I have access to any number of BBC Micros (well, okay,
three) as well as Windows machines and Macs, and also a FreeBSD box. I have
5.25" drives for the Beebs and the Intel boxes.
I suppose ideally what I'd like is a way of transferring the image over a
serial link and have the Beeb itself write the disk. I'm not afraid of
typing in a long programme if needs be :-)
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thank you.
Jim

Many thanks to Paul @ RISCOS Ltd for the SW Show this year. Despite picking up
the reins with very little time to organise the show it all went very well. Of
interest were visitors who had recently resurrected old RISC OS machines,
searched the web for reminders of how to use them, found details of the show,
and turned up to find much had happened whilst they had been away.
