  Beeb Model B Question

Author: Ben Newnham
Date: Jul 11, 2008 11:20

I have a Model B connected to a 14 inch TV. The TV is tuned properly but
when the Beeb displays anything that is white, it streaks across the
screen, why is this and how can it be fixed?

  New Century Themes

Just wanting to make the desktop a bit brighter and give it a change
for a while.

The "Infinity" theme from new-century.org.uk was good but it replaces
the toolbars without replacing the textures. How do I replace the
window/menu/iconbar textures?

Is it not possible to integrate this with the theme manager?

  Dutch Risc PC leftover

Author: Wim Ekels
Date: Jul 10, 2008 07:42

Hi Group,

mail me op wim.ekels@planet.nl
Het onderstaande adres wordt wel gelezen, mar ik ga dit weekeinde 2
weken op vacantie en lees dan alleen prive-mail.

For all :
I'm emptying my shed and have left some RiscPC's
But I'll keep 2 at least, one@work and one@home.

Canon BC-60 black cartridge free to good home

Author: Barry Gray
Date: Jul 10, 2008 07:31

For the second time in a few years I needed to replace a printer a few
months after I had purchased a year's supply of ink for it.

I have a BC-60 black cartridge free to the first person who e-mails me
with a UK mainland snail-mail address. I will pay the postage (hence
the stipulation about UK mainland) but would ask the recipient to make
a donation to charity (preferably a wildlife or environmental charity,
see my web site) equivalent to the postage.

Thanks

  Oregano2 Failure

Author: John Nolan
Date: Jul 9, 2008 10:18

Hello All,

I've been trying to look at the following site

http://www.energyhelpline.com

It fails, totally, with Fresco and with Oregano 2, appears to download well
until it fails with - Internal error no stack for trap handler.

My version of Oregano 2 is v2.2.18 rev.3: Oct 13 2003, and there does not
seem to be a later one.
(I have a feeling that Peter Young is going to contact me !!)

Has anyone ideas on the best web browser for RISCOS ?

Can't you do it 'binararily' - use a 0 or a 1 instead for no and yes?

  Kyocera FS-680 - slightly broken

Author: John Nolan
Date: Jul 9, 2008 09:47

Hello All,
If any of you within about 80 miles of Gloucester have the above Kyocera
model you are about to "dump", I could be interested, if it is mechanically
sound.
All that's wrong with mine is some small, but vital, bits broken on the
paper tray. I doubt if I can mend it and I understand the model is
discontinued !!

With best wishes,

  !Pluto and cyrillic input

Author: Paul Sprangers
Date: Jul 8, 2008 07:19

Dear all,

This may either have been covered before, or just being a silly question
anyway, but since I discovered today how easy it is to send cyrillic
e-mails on a Windows computer, I wonder if this might be possible on RISC
OS as well - with a little more effort.

When I examine the cyrillic mail in !Zap, all the Russian characters are
represented by question marks (&3F). Miraculously, when viewed in NetSurf,
they turn into readable Russian!

What I would like to achieve, is typing cyrillic characters directly into a
!Pluto window, and have the guarantee that the receiver will be able to
read the mail directly.

Probably, I can write the necessary keyboard driver myself, but what else
should be done - if it can be done in the first place?

Kind regards,
Paul Sprangers
