Many thanks for everyone's helpful comments on this; I didn't know how
many people would have read Archive on Line, but it seems as if many
did, and that the situation is well under control. I'm glad that Ray's
site won't disappear as fast as I feared it might.
I totally agree about leaving everything till the family have had time
to mourn, but David seems to be very approachable, if a bit bemused by
Ray's fame in the RISC OS world. One of the best memorials to Ray
would be to preserve his software as long as RISC OS lasts, and in due
course David may find that a comfort.
I have posted on a-o-l a message from him about the funeral (9 June)
and an address to which donations in memory could be sent. I could let
anyone who is interested, and who doesn't read a-o-l, have these
details if wanted.
With best wishes,

It's a funny thing: as soon as I drag the RAM disc size non-zero,
BB crashes unless alignment exceptions are off. But John Chetwynd
has a RAM disc configured, so it starts up with a non-zero RAM
disc and exceptions still enabled. I didn't believe it, so we
checked it at the SAUG meeting last Tuesday. It really is as I
have just described.

My DevKit8000 has a RAM disk (20M) and I have never had any problems.

you're trying to do the same as them. One or the other please!

I am trying to use latest MPro as an Imap client. I set it to
IMAP/NNTP client in MPRo choices and it asks for new set of details
(it does not appear to ask for IMAP username/password). When I try to
connect to IMAP, it just shows error message to say it failed to
login. I havethe IMAP mailbox working correctly from other programs?
Is there somewhere
I need to enter these details or an easy way to debug?
Regards,
MArk

I believe someone with an 'A9' was using a 'Utility' that would read
the 'Shift' key on startup - so the '!Boot' sequence could be stopped.
Any refs to the 'Utility' site?
Thanks
