Having worked in software development for over 15 years in many
organisations using different development methodologies such as
waterfall, RUP, Scrum and XP, I'm still not sure if there is a
specific 'type' of organisation that is more likely to adopt agile
approaches than others?
I guess it could be argued that those organisations that are more
innovative or open to change are more likely to adopt agile methods?
To try and gain more understanding, and because I have a passion for
software development methodologies, I started a PhD five years ago
(part-time) to look at this issue. I'm now at the point where I'm
conducting a short survey to determine what factors might or might not
influence the adoption of agile methods, in the hope to provide some
enlightenment. If we get enough participation, I then hope to report
this back to the group to see if there are indeed any trends.
The survey is short and should take around 5 - 10 minutes to complete,
so please bare with the scaled questions whereby you are asked to rate
your agreement against a list of statements. To participate, could I
kindly ask you to fill in the survey using the link below -

Hello,
I need to determine the minimum hardware requirement (CPU and RAM) to
my software. Is there any tools or way to determine these
requirements!
Thanks,

Hi folks,
Can anyone suggest a tool or toolset, commercial or otherwise, that can help
me better organize definitions in C (and some C++) header files in a large
embedded software project (~3MLOC). Some of the code is over 10 years old
and has been modified and re-used over time and has resulted in a bit of a
tightly coupled "spagetti code" here and there.
Examples: mud.c (and 100 other .c files) includes foo.h, which also includes
bar.h, which contains some 1000 symbol definitions of which foo.h only
requires 10, 10 which were put in 10 years ago and haven't changed since.
So obviously I need bar_core.h with those 10 symbols and bar_ext.h with the
other 990 that are getting added to every release.
The other common case is mud.c includes foo.h because it's using part of the
foo subsystems API. The other part of the foo subsystem that it doesn't
use, uses the bar subsystem. As a result, foo.h pulls in all of bar.h, even
though mud.c doesn't use it. Foo.h needs to be split into foo_light.h and
foo_full.h, as it were.
cheers!

Call for Participation
---============---
Static Analysis Workshop (SAW)
http://samate.nist.gov/index.php/SAW
at PLDI
12 June 2008
Registration for the Static Analysis Workshop is open. In addition to
papers, the workshop features experience reports from those who
participated in and helped with the 2008 Static Analysis Tool
Exposition (SATE).
http://samate.nist.gov/index.php/SATE
SATE is a chance for static analysis tool makers to run their tools on
significant test cases and for the research community to get large
data sets.
The full test sets, tool outputs, and reports won't be released
publicly for six months. SAW allows the public to get some
information before then.
