  Setting view

Hi,

I want a map for 1 province and I can a new layer for one selected
province. I have difficulty in keeping the view of that province to fit
the display area, everytime I click on full extent, the province map
get reduce to small size (as arcGIS has scale to fit the entire
country's map). Is there a way to set a map to fit the windows (arcGIS
display area) view?

How to import xyz-files to Arcmap

Author: jyrki.tuominen

Have been trying to import xyx-files to Arcmap by following some
instructions with poor results.
I have changed the file name somefile.xyz to somefile.txt as
instructed. Maybe some problems with header. What is the right syntax
for headers?

file format looks like this:

X Y Z
-85.7126854 30.1302116 -6.35
-85.7126854 30.1302116 -6.35

Re: How to coloring different shape in same layer?

This should be done easily:

Rightclick on your layer

Properties

Symbology-Tab

Choose on the left, take "Categories, Unique Values" for example. Then
select a "value field" (it will determine the color), maybe the field
which contains the names of the provinces. Then click "Add all values".

You may also choose a different color scheme.

Just play a littlebit with the categories and so.

Hope this helps, Stefan
