Subject: What is Responsible for Packet Writing Instability?

I just replaced a ZIP drive that I haven't used in years with a second
hard drive in my old Dell Optiplex running Windows 98SE. I had to
reconfigure the way the drives were hooked up due to the shortness of
the space for the master and slave connectors on the IDE cables. Now,
Roxio Drag-to-Disc can no longer find the burner, even though Easy CD &
DVD Creator Classic 6 has no trouble.

Previously my configuration was
Primary IDE
Master: Hard drive (C:)
Slave: IO/Magic 52x24x52/16X Internal CD-RW & DVD-ROM Combo Drive

Secondary IDE
Master via Cable Select: The CD-ROM that was included by the
manufacturer with my computer. Presumably a 40x.
Slave via Cable Select: Iomega ZIP drive, IDE interface

The new configuration is now
Primary IDE
Master: old hard drive
Slave: "new" hard drive

I have created an autorun CD. It will autorun and open the menu page I
have created in an html file. It looks great, works like a charm!
However, the list of links I have created in the html file that link to
pdf and doc files on the CD are not working. I click on them and get a
file path of


the files are found at:

drive/materials/druglaw.pdf

Can you give me the formula for how to create the proper file path? I
have tried a few to no avail. I cannot even recall the order I have
tried at this point. I am sure there is a tried and true way to do it
and I'm hoping someone here will know and pass on the knowledge to me.

Do I have to put a .../.../ before the materials folder in the path? or
is there a different configuration?

Thanks so much for your help...once I get past this the project is done!
