ExifTool (current: 7.43), requires perl to be installed. Commandline
utility, can (re)write EXIF info for all files in a dir. Seems to work
OK here (W4 FP17 etc.).

  Uniaud on T23

Author: Dave Saville
Date: Sep 17, 2008 11:27

I cannot get this to work. I have tried various versions and *every*
suggested workaround, Full detection, Setting to 0 then 1, etc. etc.
It did work briefly for a few minutes but now does zilch. I cannot
report it to netlabs because the information in the uniaud readme on
how to report problems does not work. One cannot login to the reporter
using the id and password supplied.

  Mplayer and T23

Author: Dave Saville
Date: Sep 16, 2008 00:57

Last week my T21 finally died and I picked up a used T23.
Unfortunately for me it only had a 1024X768 screen. As my T21 had been
running at 1400X1200 ish I was not that happy. Now most T2x bits are
interchangable so I swapped the entire lid over and now it is happily
working at the higher res. (The resolution is a function of the LCD
panel not the video chip. S3 cards can do lots of different
resolutions. Another function that is the panel and not the chip is
the internal/external key - Some flip internal/external and others
internal/external/both. The panel that came out of the T23 was the
former and the T21 the latter.)

But.... I cannot get mplayer to work, which it did on the T21. (Note I
had *never* tried it with the T23 before I swapped the lids over.) I
have the latest Hobbes drop and it starts up, says there is no video,
goes on to load audio and sits there. Any attempt to kill it results
in a hung application that takes a reboot to clear.

The software is *exactly the same as on the T21 as I simply swapped
the hard drives.

I am using -vo kva:t23 as I was on the T21.

new PM123 1.40 release in progress

Author: Marcel Müller
Date: Aug 19, 2008 11:47

Hi,

I am currently (and regrettably slowly) working on PM123 1.40. Currently
release 1.40 alpha 3 fix 1 is available at
http://www.maazl.de/project/pm123/index.html#pm123_1.40

While it has plenty much of new features, it probably also has plenty
much of new bugs. Therefore I could use some help to find all the bugs.
So feel free to write test reports and enjoy the new features.

Marcel

Thank you, Marcel, for your continuing work. PM123 is a useful
tool (and app, in that it handles so many kinds of sound file).
If you've added (worthwhile ) features, wow.

Certain files crash MPlayer, KMP drops audio

Author: Alex Taylor
Date: Jul 13, 2008 06:59

I have a number of video files that I'm trying to view in MPlayer and/or
KMP.

MPlayer simply can't get through them without crashing in decode_audio,
usually within a few minutes or even seconds.

KMP can play them for longer, but eventually the sound suddenly cuts out
and never comes back. (This usually seems to happen when the video hits
a point where it maxes out the load and stutters slightly.) Sometimes, KMP
crashes as well.

Is this likely an issue with the files, with MPlayer and KMP, or with my
sound driver (Uniaud 1.1.4 rc4)?

FWIW, here's the output from MPlayer:

MPlayer dev-SVN-r26012-OS2-3.3.5 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.00GHz (Family: 6, Model: 13, Stepping:
8)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled with runtime CPU detection.

  Test Uniaduio build bug

Author: William L. Hartzell
Date: Jun 2, 2008 13:35

Sir:

I've been trying Paul S's test builds of uniaudio drivers. This last
one changed several things. For one the old IOctrl API worked as I
could use the sound object to adjust the volume of system sounds...
