ACT MASK DriveEncription Trashed My DriveI

Author: flamestar

I brought decrypt and encrypted a removable hard drive. I brought the
program and used it for weeks. Then it asked me for my number which I
put in and my mistake was a encrypting my drive after that. I put in
the correct pass word and it encrypted my drive it said so, and then I
turned off the computer and decrypted the files. It said I pout in the
correct password and it said it decrypted the drive but the computer
said that the drive was inaccessible.

For the wise guys who think that software is perfect. I put in the
right password the software said so and said it decrypted the drive. I
put in the right password the software said so and said it decrypted
the drive. I put in the right password the software said so and said
it decrypted the drive.
I put in the right password the software said so and said it decrypted
the drive.

I am sure that someone will say too bad it you forgot you password. I
didn't forget it.

Need help with group security policy

Author: Ron Hall
Date: Oct 9, 2006 16:14

I had my laptop at a workplace and joined it to their domain temporarily.
Now that I have removed it from their domain it appears that their group
security policy has remained on my laptop now that it is back home on my
workgroup. I cannot install most of the Windows updates anymore. After
looking at the event log I see errors along the lines of propagating
security policy, also I've been prompted to change my password that it will
expire in 14 days and I've never had that before either so I conclude that
it must be group policy over riding my computer defaults. I would like to
know how to eliminate or reset the group security policy and get control of
my laptop again.

TIA
Ron

  EFS decryption without keys

Author: rcerlini11
Date: Aug 4, 2006 08:50

Hi all,

I have been reading here for a while and decided to post. I want to
decrypt EFS encrypted files if they were encrypted on a machine that no
longer exists. ie no keys or certificates, just the
encrypted files.

It's easy. Assign some IP to this machine on the router using MAC address,
set the static IP on this computer. Hopefully kids are not having the full
administrative access to all system settings? :)
