I am using the oroborus window manager. How do I change the mouse behaviour
from sloppyfocus to clickfocus?

I am using Debian, and I am running the oroborus window manager. If I
minimize an application, it just disappears. How do I get it back?

I am using Debian (Lenny) and I have installed the oroborus window
manager. Currently I do not have a root menu or a start button. I installed a
free standing panel (fspanel). This gave me a taskbar and a clock, but I
still don't have a start button, so I can't lauch any applications.
How can I get a root menu and a start button? Is there a package that
provides these?
Also, besides fspanel are there any other packages that provide a stand
alone taskbar?

I've got a problem. My mouse occasionally takes many clicks, if I try
to click roll once. This is annoying especially with Firefox.

Hi,
I have a problem with gdm on my wife's Asus eeePC 701 running Ubuntu
Hardy with a custom 2.6.26.2 vanilla kernel, XFCE-4.4.2 and gdm
2.20.7-0ubuntu1.1.
Gdm works fine until the login request, then I pick the user from the
list and I type the password. At this point it freezes for about 30
seconds before starting the desktop manager (XFCE).
I have this delay only if the configured "default gateway" is not
reachable, which can be because the ethernet cable is unplugged, because
there is no wireless connection, or because network parameters have been
set for the work office (where there is a dhcp server) while being at
home (where I have a static ip configuration), and so on...
There is no delay if the "default gateway" is reachable.
I've enabled "debug" in gdmsetup so I get the following messages in /var/
log/syslog when the delay occurs:

Hi,
I want to make a C program which capture all mouse events, not only
those from a given window, is it possible ?
If yes, how ?
I tried a XSelectInput(dpy, DefaultRootWindow(dpy), myMASK) but It
didn't work.
Thanks in advance,

Hi ,
I have a problem that seems to only affect linux systems attached to my
Gateway FPD2275W monitor ( meaning it isn't a problem for a Mac laptop
attached to the same monitor ).
All of my lines ( such as the side of a mouse or the edge of a window )
have a ghost line that is about 5 mm away . What this means is that I
get a headache after looking at the screen for too long. I actually try
to do most of my coding in a straight tty terminal ( ctrl-alt-f5 for
instance) just because the resolution is so much better.
Here's my configuration and what I've tried
- Graphics card is a GeForce 7050 PV / Nvidia
- System is Fedora core 9
- I'm using the tool "nvidia-settings" to configure some parts of my
monitor settings.
- My settings are
1600x1200 resolution
Freq = 60Hz
Input is VGA ( not DVI )
The following is my xorg.conf file

Hello.
I want constructive discussion, please leave all "x ftw and x md" out,
but instead point where i'm wrong or maybe we could change our minds
in some better way.
I'm not as much into kernel and X internal as i'd like to be, but
here's what i know:
(really basically)
1) there is a kernel, which knows how to put graphic data into
different video cards video memory and it's called "kernel video
driver",
2) there is X video driver, which knows how to call kernel video
driver to draw current X screen layout
3) there is an application of type "window manager" or something like
that, which knows about current running applications' windows and
tells X to draw those windows
Same picture is for input devices like keyboard, mouse. What the hell
X is doing here? I can see either kernel drivers or X drivers are out
of adequate architecture. Am i wrong?
