Dilbert - disses Linux

Author: Hadron

I have to laugh - originally the Dilbert team released a simplified UI
version of their daily page because of slow connections and older
installs not being up to date with Flash etc.

Now they have named it "Linux/Unix"

http://dilbert.com/fast/

Look at the link to it at the bottom of the page. What a slap in the
face!

Go "advocates"! Fly my winged beauties! Let Mr Adams know what you
think!

Why is this a "slap in the face"? Why does it "diss" Linux? My Linux
installation can cope with the Flash stuff OK but I prefer the "fast"
version; I'm sure lots of people on other platforms will too. The
web designers obviously think otherwise, but that's their problem.

What a load of bull, my backported firefox edition v1.5.0.7 on Mandrake
10.1 AMD64 runs just as fast as the lean/mean 'fast' Dilbert page. See

Actually, in the bottom-of-page toolbar, there's a "Linux/Unix" link,
which takes one to the "fast" version of the page - the one *without* all
the ads, banners, embedded media and the likes.

Not sure what Hardon's point there is, unless it's to point out that
Adams is giving *nix users a cleaner, lighter page as a reward for
adopting the technology, while leaving the dross to the rest.

Yep. If Quack actually ran Linux he would know this.
