| for placing widgets on canvases. These features will bring some new
| capabilities to KDE's Plasma desktop shell.

Firefox Goes Mobile
,----[ Quote ]
| There's no doubt that it's getting easier to access the Web on a mobile
| device. Thanks to the iPhone and Apple's Web browser, Safari, millions of

| there's still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to allow for the
| kind of innovation on the mobile Web that is possible on the traditional Web,
| says Mitchell Baker, chairman of Mozilla, maker of the Firefox browser.

Embedded Linux research report ships
,----[ Quote ]
| EDC noted that some 40 percent of the survey's 500 respondents were targeting
| embedded Linux.
|
| [...]
|
| Also in the earlier reports, Andrews observed that the need for RTOS source
| code was "one of the reasons that proprietary RTOSes created in-house for a
| specific system have long been popular, and now it's a primary motivating
| factor in the adoption of Embedded Linux."
|
| The now completed survey results are said to include "expert analysis" from
| Ann Thryft, a 20-year industry veteran. The report includes chapters on
| platforms, processors, tools, languages, security, target devices, mobile

Munchkins,
Congrats! At .06 percent desktop market share, we have
successfully held back the adoption of Linux. Even though
Vista is the ME of our time, we have proven that we can
successfully hold ground. As we know, usually after an ME we
have a success like in the case of XP. Windows 7 will be that
great OS, especially when integrated with MSN/Yahoo Live!
The linux numbers are worse than OS/2's ever were on the
desktop, and we must thank our selves for our efforts as
the last few years were rough with the borked Vista OS.
Thank our OEM team whom pounded the OEMs to not release OSS drivers.
Any OEM that tried too suddenly found their competitors flush
with cash. The lack of drivers released by OEMs means we were quite
successful! I think punishing nVidia by propping up ATI showed that
we meant business.
