Hello all
I am going to give my mother my macintosh powerbook G4 which I have
been running ubuntu 6.10 on. I need to wipe ubuntu from the drive
and reinstall OSX 10.2 Jaguar because my mother needs it, and want's it.
Yes, I know. "why would she want to?". She does. That's that.
I am having *huge* difficulties with this for one simple reason: Ubuntu
won't boot anything from the CD drive but the ubuntu boot disk. Well
I should say, nothing from Apple Corp. I use the usual hold down the 'C'
key and hard-drive-installed ubuntu asks if I want to boot from cd or
continue with normal booting. If I try to boot from cd, the drive makes
a few funny noises, and stops spinning. Ubuntu loads. The drive is
fine. It works within gnome with no problem.
First of all, up your's apple for not auto booting from cd, when a bootable
cd is present in the drive. Second, how do I get the blasted laptop to
boot up from the OSX install disk or even the tech tools disk? I know this
isn't a tech forum, but there are some pretty sharp cookies out here
that I look forward to hearing from. The trolls can bite me.

It's unusual to see truly clean-looking fonts on Linux. Check your eyeglass
prescription.

Spinning cubes and warping windows is neat. But what else is it?
